A car takes the Ipswich turning off a roundabout. In reality this is the Crooked Billet roundabout in Iver Heath, Buckinghamshire. The pub is also seen in 'What a Whopper'.

The journey continues past a building identified by Alan Bourke as The Pinewood Hotel, Wexham Park Lane in Buckinghamshire.

The trees appear to have taken over in Richard Winchester's comparison.

Passing another house, the car turns off onto a road with a hospital sign. The junction of Uxbridge Road and Wexham Park Lane, found by Alan Bourke.

Richard Winchester took this view slightly off angle to show that the property is still there rather than being just a picture of greenery.

Kate Morris (Liv Ullmann) emerges in a hospital car park. She has been told her husband is in hospital in Ipswich following a heart attack. Inside she finds that this is a maternity hospital and she has overshot her destination. Looking across London Road from the entrance of the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading, Berkshire.

Repair work is underway at the hospital, and the building opposite has been replaced by Princes House.

Diverted to the film's Ipswich General Hospital, Kate finds her husband's car unlocked in the car park.

With her husband in a coma, Kate stays in a nearby hotel where she finds that her husband has signed in with a girl as Mr. and Mrs. Morris. Nick Williams recognised the Holiday Inn, Maidenhead, Berkshire.

Learning that her husband has died, Kate returns home. The hotel register in the film helpfully shows the real address, Wickhams, 24 Lower Cookham Road, Maidenhead, Berkshire.

Wickhams has been extensively rebuilt, but some features of the original design remain, such as the ornate chimney stack, just visible at the top right.

She meets her husband's business partner (Tim Piggott-Smith) at the plant nursery.

Working at the nursery is the young attractive Josie (Amanda Redman).

Kate has her suspicions as Josie cycles off.

At the burial Kate finds flowers marked 'Love' that she suspects have been left by Josie. Phil Richards places this as Braywick Cemetery, Braywick Road, Maidenhead. (RL)

Phil has managed to locate the plot and finds that Richard 'was buried' where Michael & Josie O'Donnell are now interred. (RL)

Kate and Peter leave the funeral reception to talk by the riverside. The rear of Wickhams, Maidenhead.

The hedge has grown to obscure the rear of the house from the towpath, but the gate remains.

In their talk, Peter reveals that he and his wife have separated. The towpath north of Boulters Lock, Maidenhead.

Learning that Josie now works at Giddy & Giddy Estate Agents, Kate goes around to snoop. Giddy & Giddy had 24 branches, including this one at 11-13 Queen Street, Maidenhead. They were purchased by Hamptons in 1987.

Phil Richards confirms the fact that 'Giddy & Giddy' were purchased by 'Hamptons' but noticed that the small convenience store remains. (RL)

Kate continues to follow Josie. Brock Lane, Maidenhead, a street also seen in 'Danger List' and 'The Adventures of P.C. 49: Investigating the Case of the Guardian Angel'.

Brock Lane now turns left to become Queens Lane in front of Nicholsons shopping centre.

Kate catches up with Josie and hassles her to get into the car. Phil Richards places this as St. Lukes road Maidenhead. (RL)

Phil says that his comparison shot doesn't do the scene justice due to the amount of cars parked on the street. However, to confirm the location, the background to the actress in the rain has the two windows and surrounding brickwork matching. And let's not forget the bend in the road Phil. (RL)

Kate drives Josie to show her the house she shared with her husband, in order to make her feel guilty.

Kate helps her mother-in-law Mrs Sells (Elizabeth Spriggs) to carry furniture from a house sale. Not just any house says Phil Richards, but 'Stubbings House', Maidenhead. (RL)

Phil very generously 'popped down there' to take this shot for us, and for the record, ascertain that the gardens revealed in Captures 9 and 10 are NOT connected to this House or it's garden centre. (RL)

Peter meets Kate at a house he is kitting out and tells here that he loves her. Phil Richards found this to be 4 Bishop's Court, Maidenhead, Berks. (RL)

Josie takes Kate on a trip to Camden. This is Camden Lock on the Regent's Canal, viewed from the bridge on Camden High Street NW1. Camden Lock also features in 'Mr. Jolly Lives Next Door' and 'Without a Clue'.

Denis Hoare re-visited 'old ground' and captured the comparative shot of Chalk Farm Road looking towards Camden Town, the distinctive double brick pillar confirms the location. (RL)

The pair spend an enjoyable time looking around. Camden Lock Market. London NW1.

In providing this shot for us Denis explains that he believes that filming was done from an upstairs window of 'The Carnarvon pub' that stood on this site, unfortunately the whole row of shops and pubs were destroyed in a fire. Denis was, however, favoured by the tenants of a replacement building and provided access and a window in order to achieve a good shot. For which ReelStreets also give thanks. Explaining his comparative shot Denis says "The part of the new old-style building on the right is where the building would have been, and the gap would be where the original entrance to the market would have been, where the yellow Transit is seen parked outside." He wasn't fortunate to have a yellow transit in the scene and asks that we accept the white van despite it also being off place. Off course Denis, you did well to get the camera position. (RL)

Denis remembers the days when the market was called 'Dingwalls' as it was in front of their building, updated to 'Camden Market' when the market was later expanded. In fact he says " it's proper name is ' Hampstead Road Lock', named after Hampstead Road which this part of Chalk Farn Road was then named." (RL)

Kate invites her son Bill (Michael Maloney) and his girlfriend Margaret (Gwen Taylor) to go boating on the Thames in Richard's boat. The property is Maindenhead Court Boathouse, Court Road, Maidenhead identified by Phil Richards. (RL)

Phil provides the comparative shot with a much needed explanation. The Edwardian boathouse is a listed building but was converted to support an office environment some time ago. In subsequent times it has been frequently up for let and is currently used as a nursery school. Whilst the building looks the same ,the river landing stage no longer exists and the boat yard itself has been turned to lawn but there is still some evidence of the boatyard with the old 'manual slipway winch' just outside the property fence. The slipway still exists, however, to maintain the Thames tow path a small bridge now covers it. (RL)

Of the many shots that Phil took he selecxted this one as it shows the shade and the weir superstructure. An added point being that 'Wickhams' property, seen in Capture 7, can be seen in the background on the other side of the river. (RL)

Just having crossed the bridge over the original slipway Phil took this shot accepting that he should have gone to the rivers edge really. Just as well Phil, we want you for further shots. (RL)

After their time together, Kate unexpectedly tells Peter to sell Richard's boat. The landing stage of Maindenhead Court Boathouse, Court Road, Maidenhead as found by Phil.

Phil provided two comparative shots for this capture. This is the correct location and the bridge mentioned elsewhere. The other was an attractive shot of the river as seen in the capture. As can be seen I opted for the actual location as it is now. (RL)

At an antique dealers, Kate sells off some items of silverware they were given as a wedding present.

Kate waits to pick up Josie from work, but she is not there. Giddy & Giddy's offices in Queen Street, Maidenhead.

Kate heads off for Josie's place. Emerging from Brock Lane into Queen Street, identified by Tony Winzar who recalls that the shop on the LHS used to be a car accessory place where he once bought blue car spray paint.

Now it's another estate agent. The junction in daylight today.

Lloyds Bank and Boots have not moved in all this time.

Peter drives Kate to his bungalow, where they spend the night together.

Kate and Josie arrive at the station on the first leg of a journey to Mexico. Windsor & Eton Riverside Station, Windsor, Berkshire. The pair board their train from platform three at Windsor & Eton Riverside Station. This platform has since been removed.

They pick up Richard's car for the drive to the airport. By judicious use of available detail and a personal visit Phil Richards has established this to be the rear of 15 to 9 Calvey Road West, Slough, Berks. (RL)

On the way, Josie has second thoughts about taking the trip, and arguments ensue. The A412 Uxbridge Road near George Green in Buckinghamshire with the Pinewood Hotel on the right and the corner of Wexham Park Lane to the extreme right recognised by Antony Blair.
