If you have any information regarding this production, the locations or, even better, some comparison shots please contact us. Images submitted must be in Landscape orientation, as would be seen on the cinema screen, not Portrait.

We are aware that there are films on the site that were added when the criteria for the inclusion of locations was very different from today and, as a result, there may be scenes missing from some productions. Please do not forward additional screen captures to us but bring the detail to our attention, for we do, and are, 're-addressing' these older entries as time allows.

Jill Kemp sings 'Just a Blue Sky' after her cousin is shown around the grounds of The Towers by her Father Henry who has just purchased the estate. Geoff has received confirmation that this is indeed the grounds of Aldenham House, even providing a confirmatory B&W photo but the fiddler has now found his way to pastures new. (RL)

Once again we benefit from Geoff Dodd's special dispensation to have his further confirmation that 'the fiddler' has indeed found pastures new. (RL)

  • 'Now' required

Police Constable Merks (W. H. Berry) walks into view continuing the song begun by Jill. In the background stands the bridge over the lake at Tykes Water at Aldenham Country Park in Hertfordshire, found by Steve Randall while browsing the Britmovie website. The location can also be seen in other productions including 'Taste the Blood of Dracula', 'Dracula AD 1972', '633 Squadron' and 'Fear in the Night'.

Guy and Lumley Lancaster (George and Kenneth, the Western Brothers) walk towards the river together. Geoff Dodd advises that this is also Aldenham Country Park, Aldenham, Herts. , the the right of the House as seen from the front. (RL)

The pair come across Henry Kemp (Finlay Currie) who has been pulled from the river to safety by Jim who has jumped back into the water. Another confirmaton received by Geoff that this is also Aldenham House grounds but the exact location remains to be pinpointed. (RL)

Lady Agatha Lancaster (Esme Church) tells her husband Sir George (Edmund Breon) that the man being helped back to the house is Henry Kemp, the oil king. Geoff tells us that this is at the rear of Aldenham House and that the ornaments are still to be seen. (RL)

The urns are indeed still in place Geoff but the background has certainly changed. (RL)

At their home Merton Chase, Lady Agatha and Sir George keep up the pretence that Henry was rescued from drowning by their sons Guy and Lumley. The front of Aldenham House says Geoff. (RL)

Geoff found that parking now is rather more organised than in 1935. (RL)

Jim Lancaster (Clifford Mollison) approaches carrying the provisions that he has saved from the river. Remaining at Aldenham House, Geoff sees this as the old stable block to the left of the House, an area seen in 'The Avengers' episode 'The Gravediggers' as well as a 'Danger Man' episode. (RL)

With thanks to Geoff for wandering off to the old stable block for us. (RL)

When Minerva Kemp (Lorna Hubbard) arrives at Merton Chase with her cousin Jill, Lady Agatha introduces her to Guy and Lumley. Once again the front of Aldenham House Geoff advises. (RL)

With thanks to Geoff for providing further guidance on parking facilities. (RL)

Jim drives Jill away after a film full of songs performed at the ABPC studios in Elstree.

Dropping the song-sheet that he's learning lines from, Constable Merks falls into a ditch as the car speeds past. Jules Ballantyne says that "it looks like the thatched cottages in Woodhall Lane, Shenley once again, previously seen in 'Alfie Darling'. (RL)
