Near a bus stop, he sees two girls, Joyce (Angela Bruce) and Eileen (Margaret Heald) hitchhiking to Leeds. Fiveways Corner is a few hundred yards further on.

Re-enforcing the absence of the footbridge Denis took this very similar shot from his car telling us that the bus stop in the capture would have been approximately where the bush is now. The bus stop itself having been relocated about 50 yards further along the road. (RL)

Joe and the girls reach a Motel. These scenes were filmed in The Thatched Barn, Elstree Way in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire. The building was demolished in 1989 and the Elstree Moat House now stands on the site.
