The car passes beneath a high bridge as Herbert cycles above. Valley Bridge crossing Skelton Beck at Saltburn by the Sea. Built in 1869, the toll bridge was demolished by explosives in December 1974.

The Halfpenny Bridge-less valley captured by Neil Webster who adds that a "ha'penny" was the toll for pedestrians.

After the Austin collides with Herbert, knocking him from his bike and killing him, a Motorcyclist approaches the scene of the accident. Saltburn Road with the bridge over Skelton Beck to the centre. Severe storms in the early 1970s left the seaward end of the Pier in a dangerous state with the pier-head being lost in October 1974.

Neil Webster found the now truncated pier.
