Late one evening Bob Ketley (Jeremy Bulloch) and his brother Peter (Anthony Parker) step out of their house after hearing distant explosions. The porch of the property now known as Sparrow's Hall in Holne, Devon.

At the quarry the following morning, Workers make their way to safety as the Foreman blows his whistle to signal an explosion. Whitecleave Quarry at Buckfastleigh in Devon, which closed in the late 1980s.

Parking his taxi at the quarry, Tom makes his way to the Foreman's hut in the hope of obtaining more dynamite. The road to Whitecleave Quarry with buildings on Plymouth Road and Gipsy Road to the right.

Later that day, Tom waits at the station to collect a fare and take them to the Atherton's farm. Buckfastleigh station at the end of Station Road in Buckfastleigh, Devon where, in the right background, is the camping coach which stood in the yard between 1956 and 1961.

Arriving from London to visit their Uncle and Aunt, Simon (James Luck) and Susan (Joanna Horlock) alight from the train. Buckfastleigh station opened with the line in 1972.

As he arrives to catch the 2.30 train, Peter Ketley spots Susan and Simon's fishing tackle and asks them not to take the salmon. Buckfastleigh station with the Station House in the right background. The station had closed to passengers in 1958 although goods traffic carried on until complete closure in1962.
