Rescued from the ocean by a Boatman, Mr. Pog is taken ashore where he divests himself of his wet clothes behind the beached sailing dinghy. Neil Webster suggests Norbreck Beach, to the north of Blackpool in Lancashire.

The real Bugs Blanco escapes from a nearby prison. Neil Webster identifies this as Norbreck Beach to the north of Blackpool with the "prison" being one of the turrets of the Norbreck Hydro, now styled as the Norbreck Castle Hotel, rising above the top of the cliff.
