King’s Speech, The

The future king stammers his way through a speech at the closing ceremony of the 1925 British Empire Exhibition at Wembley Stadium. Some CGI and a bunch of blow-up dolls to augment the crowd was used to transform Odsal Stadium, Rooley Lane, Odsal, Bradford, West Yorkshire,

The Duchess makes a clandestine visit to Lionel Logue. If you can make it out through the fog, this is Harley Street, W1, where the speech therapist has his consulting rooms.

Richard Bennett was living at 82 Harley Street when this was filmed. They repainted the front door of the house for the movie, and he remembers seeing Helena Bonham Carter in a tent outside the house. Richard provides a clear shot of the houses in the capture, namely 78, 80 and 82 Harley Street.
