A flight from Nairobi lands at London Airport bringing young Pip to England to stay with his Aunt, Julia Ramsey. Terminal 2 at London Airport in Hillingdon, Middlesex, similar a view of which features in 'Cone of Silence' while the ramps to the apron can be seen in 'A Woman Possessed'.

The two pause to watch as the Zoo Superintendent receives the gift of a Coati Mundi. Looking towards the mansion known as Burnt Stub at Chessington, the grounds of which were turned into a zoo in 1931.

Mary and Pip continue their visit, making their way to see the vultures and bears. The zoo was founded as the Surrey Zoological Gardens by Reginald Stuart Goddard to house his collection of animals.

At the coati mundi's cage, Pip is told off by a Zookeeper (Michael Peake) when he climbs over the safety fence. The animals at Chessington once formed the largest private zoo in England.

Pip and Mary come across the circus parade before returning home. In the background stand buildings to the rear of Burnt Stub at Chessington Zoo on Leatherhead Road, Chessington.

A few days later, Pip waits at the stop to catch the number 73 bus to school.

Having caught the 65 bus to Chessington, Pip arrives back at the zoo where he picks up Peggy the coati mundi after she escapes whilst being filmed. After Goddard's death in 1946, the zoo was taken over by the Pearson Publishing Company.

The Zookeeper, Sarah Deacon (Dorothy Bromiley) and the film director's assistant Bruce (Alan Penn) chase after Pip when he runs away. The Tussauds Group took control of Chessington Zoo in 1978.

Film director Steve Martin (Maurice Kaufmann) asks if Peggy has been found. Chessington World of Adventures opened in 1987 after a theme park was added to the zoo.

With Peggy inside his jacket, Pip wanders around the zoo.

As announcements ask visitors to be on the lookout for the coati mundi, Pip jumps onto a miniature train. The "Chessington Passenger Transport Board" miniature railway train at Chessington Zoo.

After Pip hides Peggy in one of the film makers' camera cases, Bruce and Steve follow Sarah who complains that she's lost a mornings work looking for the coati mundi. The zoo was often advertised as being at Burnt Stub, Chessington.

On his way to catch the bus, the young Lad notices the film makers car. The White Hart public house on Hook Road in Chessington, Surrey. The premises stood opposite Holmwood Road and closed in 2008, being demolished two years later.

The following day Steve tells Sarah that he's been sacked. Chessington Zoo, Chessington with what appears to be the turkey and vulture aviary to the left.

After lunch with his Aunt's friends, Pip and Tommy Jardine set out to sail his new yacht in Richmond Park. Park Gates on Richmond Green in Richmond upon Thames, Surrey.

On the way to the park, Pip asks Tommy if he'd like to buy the yacht. The footpath through the gateway leads from Richmond Green, over the Waterloo to Reading railway and on to Park Lane.

Taking 5/3d for the expensive yacht, Pip runs to a pet shop in town. Facing 26 The Green at the end of Golden Court in Richmond.

Finding that the pet shop doesn't stock bamboo shoots, locusts or mealworms, Pip moves on. Facing eastward on Paradise Road, Richmond.

As Steve and Sarah watch the film shot at the zoo and realise who it was that took Peggy, Pip makes his way to see the Zoo Superintendent. The 18th century Burnt Stub at Chessington Zoo.

After Pip is traced when Steve calls at Benham's pet shop, Sarah follows him home from the zoo. The Green in Richmond.

When Pip is let into the house by Mary, Sarah decides to telephone Steve. The Green in Richmond, Surrey. The telephone kiosk and number 31, to the left, also appear in 'House of Mortal Sin'.

After Steve and Sarah call on Mrs. Ramsey that evening, they all take a taxi to the zoo when Pip runs from the house. The name on the gate confirms the location as Chessington Zoo on Leatherhead Road, Chessington in Surrey.
