The Tenth Man – Re Captures 7 and 8

Simon Gee of the Elstree and Borehamwood Museum, whilst confirming the location as 148-150 Shenley Road, Borehamwood, Herts has very kindly provided us with photographs of the same Parade through the years. The shots that include the Studio’s are, naturally, of particular interest and the reason why at the time of filming the Parade was known as ‘Studio Parade’.

The 1950’s

The Grosvenor Hotel, that is, in 2024 the ‘Pick and Shovel’ having previously been Weatherspoon’s ‘Hart & Spool’. At the time of filming it was the ‘Grosvenor Restaurant/Café’ providing Breakfasts, Luncheons, Dinners and Suppers.
