Woken from slumbering by a bite, Tom Jones (Nicky Henson) loses his rod while failing to land a fish as the titles begin.

After Squire Western agrees to adopt his Maid's offspring when learning that it was he who got her pregnant, he tells the story of Squire Alworthy (William Mervyn) beginning with his return home from London. Steve Randall recognised the Manor House at Stoke Poges in Buckinghamshire.

As his mount is led away Squire Alworthy nears the front door of his home where, inside, the Servants are enjoying his wine, food and each other! The Manor House at Stoke Poges identified by Steve Randall.

Discovering a Baby Boy in his bed, Squire Alworthy takes him as his own believing the mother to be Jenny Jones (Georgia Brown), the village tart. A studio set at Pinewood in Buckinghamshire.

As an older Tom Jones romances his sweetheart Sophia in a barn, Squire Western's hunt comes over the hill behind the house.

Sophia Western (Madeline Smith) runs towards Tom who has been thrown into the river by one of her father's Friends.

That evening, following lessons with his cousin Blifil given by Dr. Thwackum and Mr. Square, Tom lays a false fox trail across the estate. Steve Randall explains that this is Repton Bridge in Stoke Park, Buckinghamshire which was restored in 2006 when balustrades were added.

Getting this shot from the Memorial Garden as soon as he entered the grounds of Stoke Park, Richard Bennett explains that this is the wrong side of the bridge because, after taking it, he was approached by three security guards who advised him that photos were prohibited!

Tom reaches the Squire's house where he continues to lay the trail inside the schoolroom. Outside the Manor House at Stoke Poges located by Steve Randall who adds that the building also appears in 'Your Witness' and 'Carry On Dick'.

The following day's hunt gets under way with the inevitable result.

That evening Tom makes his way from Sophia's bed chamber when her Father's choice of suitor, Master Blifil, calls.

After an unexpected amorous encounter with Lizzy, Tom returns home only to flee when Squire Western arrives.

Followed from the house by Squire Western, Blifil (Murray Melvin), Dr. Thwackum (Arthur Lowe) and Mr. Square (Terry-Thomas), Squire Alworthy calls after Tom.

Accompanied by the others, Squire Alworthy rides after his adopted Son.

Tom takes refuge at the film's Bull Inn on the London Road at Upton, a hostelry run by Mrs. Jenny Waters. The Coach House at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire. The building also appears in 'Island of Terror', 'Carry On Don't Lose Your Head', 'The House in Nightmare Park' and 'The Vulture'.

Jumping from the Landlady's bedroom window, Tom escapes from the inn when Squire Western hammers on the front door. Another aspect of the Coach House at Pinewood Studios, which can be seen through the archway in the previous capture.

When it's revealed that Tom is Blifil's brother after their ailing Mother passes away, Sophia requests Lady Bellaston to invite her beloved to a masked costume ball. Heatherden Hall within Pinewood Studios at Iver Heath, Buckinghamshire.

Three cheers are raised for Sophia when she appears from Squire Western's house on the day of her marriage to Blifil.

Following a raucous night out, Squire Alworthy accompanies his queasy son Blifil. Steve Randall identifies the front door to the Manor House in Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire.

After Squire Western is distracted by a fox, Sophia's carriage arrives at the church unaccompanied. Facing St. Mary's Church on Church Hill at Harefield in Greater London.

Antony Blair returned to the location 48 years later and found that the lych gate roof hadn't survived the passage of time.

The Squires Alworthy and Western's parties eventually make it to the church after a chase across country. St. Mary's Church in Harefield.
