Storyline:
Dante Fontana, an antique dealer in Perugia, is infatuated with British culture but he is always thwarted by his wife and relatives who see him as a silly dreamer who gets lost in stories rather than doing serious work. His dream is to go to Swingin’ London and live like a typical Englishman, one day he is able to live that dream.
Additional Information:
With thanks to Jules Ballantyne for bringing the film to our attention and for the collaborative work in establishing locations. Another enjoyable association. Uploaded by Richard Lovejoy.
The Grantham Journal of Friday, November 26th 1965 reported:
“…..on Tuesday chose Grantham railway station as another location spot……to shoot a scene……..hired the whole of one carriage in the 11.30 a.m. Grantham-Nottingham train.”
As revealed in the Website https://railwaymoviedatabase.com/fumo-di-londra/ the train journey sequences are extremely complex and sometimes questionable and whilst we have spent some time with a view to making a contribution we believe that they require dedicated attention, perhaps of railway enthusiasts of the region.

Can you help:
If you have any information regarding this production, the locations or, even better, some comparison shots please contact us. Images submitted must be in Landscape orientation, as would be seen on the cinema screen, not Portrait.
We are aware that there are films on the site that were added when the criteria for the inclusion of locations was very different from today and, as a result, there may be scenes missing from some productions. Please do not forward additional screen captures to us but bring the detail to our attention, for we do, and are, 're-addressing' these older entries as time allows.

As always, eagle eyed Dave sees that little bit more, "We can just about make out the "New England" style bell tower and spire of Grosvenor Chapel to the left of the window divider.
