Matt is driven through Copthall Avenue, Moorgate EC2.

The bollard on the corner of Great Swan Alley and Copthall Avenue has been replaced. SJ

Matt (Sidney Poitier) and a British colleague Dr. Henry Barlow (George Baker), unpack the car outside 3 Moorgate Place EC2.

Just the left side has lasted the 50 years. SJ

After standing with the couple until her observer moves away, Catherine enters the film's Pall Mall Hotel. This is One Moorgate Place, the headquarters of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

The Grade II* listed building has stood for 130 years. SJ

From his hotel window Matt sees Catherine talking with a Middle Eastern man in Victoria Embankment Gardens.

As Matt descends to investigate, Catherine crosses the road, with the South Bank across the Thames in the distance.

Attempting to follow her, Matt gets a reminder that cars drive on the left in the UK. Victoria Embankment facing north.

Not a lot of traffic to avoid today. SJ

A van screeches to a halt and Matt escapes with a lecture from the driver. Victoria Embankment, facing south.

The incident is observed by Dr. Joseph Myomo (Johnny Sekka), standing at the entrance to Victoria Embankment Gardens. Behind him is a statue of Sunday School founder Robert Raikes.

Matt practices his motorcycling. Jamie Sturgeon's research found images from the October 1972 issue of the South Midland Review, a scrambling magazine, which includes information about Extras appearing in the film on a track at Brill in Buckinghamshire.

An interesting view which I think captures the Central Tower of the Houses of Parliament rather than the Elizabeth. SJ

Later Matt walks up Conduit Street W1 with New Bond Street in the distance. He is passing the Danube Travel Agency which was then at no. 6.

As Catherine heads for the film's Museum of Ethnography, a detective in a raincoat (John Beardmore) follows her. Ten Trinity Square is the former headquarters of the Port of London Authority. Now it accommodates the Four Seasons Hotel London and an exclusive private club. It is also seen in 'Patriot Games' and 'Skyfall'.

Matt rounds the corner of Trinity Square and sees the detective following Catherine.

When the detective emerges from the museum following Matt's delaying tactics, he has this view across Trinity Square to the Tower of London, with Christine nowhere to be seen.

Matt and Stefanie walk from the car park to the theatre. The comparative shot, when to hand, will show a very different scene for Dave W has established that the party have just crossed Upper Thames Street and are walking in Whittington Garden, with Bell Wharf Lane, EC4 going off on the right hand side as per that road sign. Dave W now supports his find from the same viewing point on Little College Lane revealing that the low stone wall of neighbouring Whittington Garden is now supplemented by an ironwork fence. Had that been Dave's bike I don't think he would have left it there. (RL)

Matt takes part in a motor cycle scramble. Jamie Sturgeon found evidence that the track may have been at Brill in Buckinghamshire, near Muswell Hill Farm.

Following an evening out, Matt walks Catherine to the service entrance of the "Embassy of Torunda". Orme Lane, Bayswater W2.

The gap in the railings for passage down to the embankment is unchanged but the addition of the Eye certainly impacts the view. SJ

With Stefanie and Catherine in the car Matt drives south along Albert Embankment SE1.

A winter shot would be better as the trees are obscuring the embankment view. SJ

They arrive at Westland Heliport Bridges Court Road, London SW11, where Matt has arranged a helicopter trip.

As Stefanie runs towards the helicopter we see Fulham Power Station, Townmead Road SW6, which was decommissioned in 1978 and the area redeveloped.

After Matt discovers Catherine has sickle cell disease, they walk together through Battersea Park SW11.

The hedge has grown concealing the bowling green which has seen better days. The pavilion is still there on the right. SJ

Matt buys some flowers for Stefanie at Battersea Fun Fair, which closed in 1974. The fair appeared in many productions including ‘Seventy Deadly Pills’, ‘Bedazzled’, ‘The Wrong Arm of the Law’, 'Gorgo' and ‘The Day the Earth Caught Fire’.

As he is about to board a train with Stefanie, Matt abandons the trip to return to Catherine. RL noticed the train announcement for Portsmouth, so this is presumably Waterloo Station.

In the taxi, Matt explains toStefanie about Catherine's incurable disease. Dave W says that out of the rear window can be seen Wandsworth Road SW8 looking north-east under the railway viaduct of the main line from Waterloo. Wyvil Road can be seen on the right. (RL)

Matt also tells Stefanie that he is in love with Catherine. Richard Lovejoy noticed Wandsworth Road SW8, here passing the Landsdowne Road Estate.

As Stefanie bursts into tears, a line of shops can be seen through the taxi's rear window. Wandsworth Road again, says Richard, with the line of shops adjoining Whidbourne Mews.

The taxi drives past shops labelled "Funerals" and "Motor Insurance". Dave W has also resolved this one, but this time in Battersea Park Road SW11 witnessing that No 180 remains actively providing a funeral service. (RL)

The stocks and the Memorial Hall, Aldbury, Hertfordshire.

Antony Blair returned to Aldbury where the stocks remain in place.

Panning with the car, we see the duckpond, Aldbury. The village can also be seen in 'Stop Press Girl', 'You Can't Escape', 'Web of Suspicion', 'Jassy', 'The Dirty Dozen', 'Crossplot' and 'Inquest'.

Reflecting the same view, Antony Blair captured the village 51 years later.

They drive through a hilly countryside. Neil Webster is pretty sure this is in Derbyshire, looking down on Clodhall Lane with Curbar Edge to the right. Lat/long: 53.26839606728, -1.6102826102295864.

Catherine and Stefanie visit a village shop, The Fulmer Stores, now a private residence. South Row, Fulmer Road, Fulmer, Buckinghamshire.

Now a private residence, but they've kept the Lyons Cakes sign.

Catherine has a seizure and Matt rushes her to hospital. Newholme Hospital, Baslow Road in Bakewell, Derbyshire.

Taking this view, Neil Webster adds that the Grade II listed building designed in the Jacobean style was opened as Bakewell Union Workhouse in 1841.

Matt returns Catherine to the embassy, as he turns into Cambridge Terrace from Outer Circle NW1.

They arrive at a hall where a large reception is being held. Matt and Catherine play out their concluding scene. The much-used Heatherden Hall at Pinewood Studios.
