Ann's landlady asks her to go in her place to a Harvest Festival service at her children's school. While there she meets William McClusky (Sam Waterson), a Scottish playwright. Unidentified location.

William immediately starts sweet talking Ann and invites her to take a coffee down the road. Panning left from previous capture.

After William moves in, Ann sits on a ledge by her flat looking down at the street. Behind her the houses across the road in Lindfield Gardens can be seen.

The cab has an altercation with a Ford Cortina. Denis Hoare identifies this location as the junction of Downshire Hill and Keats Grove (on the right), NW3, with St John's church hiding behind the red Cortina and the trees. (RL)

Ann's cousin Pamela who is staying with the couple is rushed to hospital after taking pills. The Royal Free Hospital, Pond Street NW3.

A lot of peering upwards from the concourse of the Brighton side (on the west) of the station eventually found a matching arrangement. SJ

Ann shouts "I love you" to William on the platform as the train departs. Victoria Station.

Feeling queasy on a drive by the coast, Ann gets out of the car. Phil B recognised the Undercliff Walk at Peacehaven in Sussex, just by the Bastion Steps leading down from the end of Steyning Avenue.

William has to travel to Liverpool for a conference. Ann decides to get a later train to meet him. Her train stops at Crewe Station, Nantwich Road, Crewe, Cheshire. This is the old platform 1, part of which appears in 'Night Mail', which now lies derelict.

William can't wait to see Ann and travels back to Crewe from Liverpool. Supposedly Crewe platform 10, but Greg Scott recognised that this is Bristol Temple Meads station on Station Approach off Bath Road in Bristol, Avon.

A quick trip to Bristol proves the location. PW

On the train, William pulls the communication cord. The couple bundle out and down the embankment,

William flags down a car by the viaduct.

After learning the truth about William's wife and other women, Ann runs from the flat.

The couple meet up again in the park. Denis Hoare has researched to back up his initial belief that this is Highgate No 1 Pond, Parliament Hill Fields, London NW5 and it all fits! (RL)

Denis backs up his identification with this comparative shot remarking that the bank in the background has now been raised as part of flood defenses, though the increase vegetation hides the detail. (RL)
