Becoming a star when it's discovered she has a wonderful singing voice, Peggy travels to Scotland to be with her friend Ruth and her husband Bruce. The view north-west from Harrow No. 1 signalbox at Harrow & Wealdstone station in Middlesex. This reused footage from 'Night Mail' is reversed.

Bruce McIntosh (Donald Gray) embraces Ruth before rejoining his regiment. Completed in 1862, Chelsea Barracks was home to five battalions from the Guards regiments at the start of World War II.

Drummers and Pipers begin to play as Number 1 Platoon marches off. Apart from the Chapel, the original buildings were demolished in the late 1950s before construction began on two replacement tower blocks which were completed in 1962. The rebuilt barracks appear in 'The Jokers'.
