Leaving the house on a bright, sunny day, Robert Murray (Denholm Elliott) walks through the garden. Littleton House at Shepperton Studios in Littleton, Surrey.

Southall Gas Works Circa 1974

Settling down to work at his typewriter, Robert's character Maxon appears in a derelict warehouse. This has the appearance of the inside of a background building seen in 'The Boy Who Never Was' and may be Southall Gas Works in Southall, Greater London. Geoff Dodd confirms, with supporting evidence, that this is indeed Southall Gas Works and was also seen in an episode of 'The Professionals' (RL)

Following the intrusion by Penny (Susan Penhaligon), she looks back from a bridge as Robert gives up chasing her through the trees. The bridge carries Squires Bridge Road over the River Ash at Littleton, Surrey and also appears in 'The Looking Glass War', 'The Night We Got the Bird' and 'Nothing Barred'.

Nick Boorman explains that to take an accurate comparison would require trespassing on private land.
