Fatally injured in the deliberate fall, Chris is rushed to hospital accompanied by his friend Adam and asks that he takes care of his daughter, Evelyne Wallace, who has been raised at the Welby Hall Orphanage.

Following the ceremony, the pair continue their sightseeing with a visit to the Monument. The crossroads formed by Monument Street and Fish Street Hill in EC3.

Climbing the 311 steps, Adam and Evelyne reach the top of the column. The Monument was built in the 1670s to commemorate the Great Fire of 1666.

Evelyne tells Adam that Matron told her "You haven't lived until you've seen London from the top of the Monument." To the left stands the tower and spire of St. Margaret's church on Rood Lane while the Tower of London is visible in the distance. The junction of Monument Street and Lower Thames Street lies to the bottom right with Billingsgate Market and the Custom House above and Tower Bridge crossing the River Thames beyond. The footage is reused in 'Colonel March Investigates'.
