Archeologists Matthew Corbeck (Charlton Heston) and Jane Turner (Susannah York) discover the long-hidden tomb of Queen Kara in the Valley of the Kings, Egypt.

Jane is staying with Matthew and his pregnant wife Anne in a house close to the excavation site.
