In the darkness, a fishing boat makes it's way into a cove near fictional Swanhaven. This is Lulworth Cove in Dorset which also appears in ‘Out of Season’, 'World War Z', 'Nuts in May', 'Five on a Treasure Island', ‘The Boys in Blue’, ‘Four Sided Triangle’ and ‘The Flaw’.

The supposedly haunted Brockham Castle, centre of Martin Bremner's band of saboteurs. Corfe Castle on the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset. The castle was also seen in 'Nuts in May', 'West 11', 'Five On a Treasure Island' and 'The Ghost Camera'.

Having read up on the history of Swanhaven, Mary leaves the library where she works. This is the back of a building that stood on Bridge Street in Walton on Thames but has since been replaced.
