48 years after the film was made, Simon Edwards points out that the whole of Shenley Road, from the Elstree & Borehamwood station to Elstree Studios has a series of raised crossing points where traffic gives way to pedestrians.

The view from Simon Edwards across the since removed zebra crossing shows the distinctive windows of the former Borehamwood Post Office. The Post Office has relocated to a smaller unit a few shops away and this building is now used as a children's nursery.

Hollywood Court, would you believe, Deacon's Hill Road, Borehamwood. SRT Cooper spotted the distant shed, painted white, which was the builders changing room and tea hut when restoration of Hollywood Court took place in 1973/74 . . . and he knows because he worked there as a labourer.

High Street again, a slight rise, up towards the station? Eric Parsons advises that this is Shenley Road in Borehamwood, near the junction with Theobald Street.

Simon Edwards explains that the brown brick building to the left of the screen capture is now a Sainsbury's Local store. It was built as The Crown public house and a crown motif in the brickwork can still be seen above the entrance door to the shop.

Now, John Hines spotted the similarity.

Not Barton Avenue, a good try but it doesn't fit. So where is it? Geoff Dodd has answered that question, the main gate at Elstree Studios whilst providing supporting evidence. (RL)

The same street, and house where the boys lived in "Pop Performer" and "Driving Instructor". Obviously belonging to one of the film crew. But we still don't know where. Do you? Another that Geoff Dodd knows, Salisbury Road, High Barnet looking across the junction with Stapylton Road. (RL)

There was a Lyndhurst School once upon a time in Borehamwood, a clue maybe. Lyndhurst Rise is Knowl Way in Elstree advises Eric Parsons.

Eric Parsons recognised this as Knowl Way in Elstree again.

There is not that much difference between 1974 and now as Simon Edwards found.

Simon Edwards discovered that the garage to the left in the screen capture has since been replaced by an extension to the house.

With so much growth in the shrubs since 1974, Simon Edwards found it difficult to take an identical shot and adds that the houses had been built in the early 70s which is why the gardens were quite bare when filming took place. The porch at this property has been replaced.

In and around St. John's church, Aldenham green. Though when these pics were taken it was Aldenham brown!

Well snapped though, can't blame John Hines for the colour.

All, reputedly gone. Demolished. Kaput! But, look closely at you'll see "Noggits Corner" from "Driving Instructor"! Eric Parsons tells us that this was at the front of Elstree studios. These buildings have been demolished and the Tesco superstore petrol station now occupies the site.

The former entrance to that part of Elstree Studios now occupied by the Tesco superstore is now taken up by shrubs as this capture from Simon Edwards shows.
