If you have any information regarding this production, the locations or, even better, some comparison shots please contact us. Images submitted must be in Landscape orientation, as would be seen on the cinema screen, not Portrait.

We are aware that there are films on the site that were added when the criteria for the inclusion of locations was very different from today and, as a result, there may be scenes missing from some productions. Please do not forward additional screen captures to us but bring the detail to our attention, for we do, and are, 're-addressing' these older entries as time allows.

An establishing shot of the London hospital where Dr. Bolton is a surgeon. A matted shot of the Liverpool Road Branch of The Royal Free Hospital on what is now Old Royal Free Place off Liverpool Road in London N1. Located by Mike Partridge.

The same location from ground level and without the matte.

As the hospital bell tolls, the strong men of the district make their way to the operating theatre. The west front of the former Royal Free Hospital in Islington recognised by Mike.

A change to the door and window arrangement is evident.

A seemingly different background for what looks like the same hospital.

This is the background now.

Dr. Thomas Bolton arrives at the hospital. Yet another background to the hospital, this time the rear of buildings on Bromfield Street on the right. Looks like someone forgot the matte! Identification by Mike Partridge.

The same buildings remain standing beyond the extension.

Accompanied by his son, a carriage brings Dr. Thomas Bolton home from the hospital. Paul Canty identifies this as Canonbury Place in London N1.

The trees need trimming!

Jonathan Bolton (Francis Matthews) alights from the carriage. Canonbury Place looking towards the junction with Alwyne Villas, located by Paul Canty.

Less carriages . . . more cars.

Susan (Betta St. John) opens the door to her uncle, Dr. Thomas Bolton (Boris Karloff). More of Canonbury Place in Islington.

A pretty good match.

A longer shot of the Doctor's London residence. Paul Canty recognised this as Canonbury Place N1. The location also appears in 'David Copperfield (1969)'.

The road vehicle co-ordinates nicely with the buildings!
