Johnny Ryan (Spencer Teakle) walks through the streets after his accomplice is run down by a rival gang. An unknown location but the actor has just passed a BOAC display in a window and is approaching an electrical showroom.

The camera follows Ryan along the street. Dave W, via his 'knowledge' of quoins/no quoins, the gradients, and the basement lights of the various blocks on both sides of Regent Street places this as 209/211 Regent Street, London W1 (RL)

Dave says "Place your trust in the basement lights, they do not lie." (RL)

Ryan looks about as he turns a corner. Again, via his 'knowledge' Dave places this as the corner of Regent Street and Gt Marlborough Street W1. It must have still been Liberty's at the time. (RL)

With Dave's extreme patience and his careful syncing with the pedestrian crossing lights on this very busy corner he eventually managed to capture a comparative view of the corner. (RL)

Approaching the Night Owl Club. Warren Sanderson located this as Percy Street in London W1, looking towards Tottenham Court Road and the Bedford Corner Hotel in the right distance. Warren adds that the building was a hotel until 1967 then became a branch of Martins Bank and is now the Jack Horner public house.

Behind the wall is Ottershaw Park. Picture and information sent in by Robin Brooks who took his life in his hands. This is a fast road and Robin was stood in the middle of it to get this shot to match the original!
