Horror Hospital

Having been fired by the group that he works for, Jason Jones is prompted to take a holiday. Flaxman Court running between Wardour Street and St Anne's Court in London W1 located by Andrew Brooks.

Jason Jones (Robin Askwith) checks the address before going inside where he finds Mr. Pollack who runs the agency. Andrew Brooks identifies this as Flaxman Court in Soho.

After booking a break at Brittlehurst Manor, Dr. Storm's country retreat, Jason checks for his train. Waterloo station on Waterloo Road in London SE1. The Art Deco structure in the background was a "News" theatre which showed Pathe News and cartoons before it became a blue cinema. Ah, I remember it well. (JT)

The destination board confirms that this is Waterloo. The departure board was also seen in 'The Wrecker'.

Jason runs onto the platform. Waterloo station, seen in several other films including 'Waterloo Road', 'West 11', 'Piccadilly Incident', 'Inadmissible Evidence', ‘Seven Days to Noon’, 'The Jokers', 'Hennessy', 'Private Road', 'The Rebel' and 'Rough Shoot'.

As the whistle blows Jason jumps on board, finding a young woman already in the compartment who's also travelling to Brittlehurst Manor. More of Waterloo, the country end of the station.

Having become acquainted on the journey, Jason alights at Brittlehurst with Judy Peters (Vanessa Shaw). Merton Park station on the West Croydon to Wimbledon Line which closed in 1997. The platform as shown is now completely built over. (RL)

The two look up the rusting line from the decrepit station. This is one of the former Tooting line platforms at Merton Park station which last saw passenger trains in 1929 although freight did continue to run over the route until the early 1970s.

I should have been a few metres further back, but that was not possible, however, the bridge was just in front of the white board, centre. (RL)

Making their way from the platform, the two are challenged for their tickets by Carter, the only member of staff at the little used halt. The former Merton Park station, Rutlish Road in Wimbledon, London SW19, which also features in 'Solo for Sparrow', 'Accidental Death', 'Hidden Homicide' and 'The Frozen Dead'.

Jason and Judy leave the station to wait for their ride. Merton Park station has since been superseded by the Merton Park tram stop on the Croydon Tramlink network. Location confirmed by Neil Saunders. More information can be found on the Disused Stations website.

It starts to rain and the pair take shelter in a derelict building. The archway of Tower Lodge leading to Knebworth Park off the B656 in Hertfordshire. The building has been restored.

Two of Dr. Storms Henchmen (Colin Skeaping and Martin Grace) find Jason and Judy and take them to the Manor. Knebworth House, Knebworth in Hertfordshire.

Knebworth House was also used as a location for 'She'll Have to Go', 'Wilde', 'The Wings of the Dove', 'The Monster Club', 'The V.I.P.s' and 'The Big Sleep'.

Having come to collect his referral fee from Storm, Pollock (Dennis Price) leaves the house. In the background stand the Main Entrance to Knebworth House near Stevenage.

Pollock stands aside as Dr. Storm's Austin Princess Limousine approaches, decapitating him with a knife that protrudes from the car's side. The Main Entrance gateway at Knebworth House.

Abraham (Kurt Christian) arrives at the retreat. The garden to the front of Knebworth House.

The avenue is lined on both sides but this was taken in the middle of the alameda as I wanted to capture more of the east side of the house. SJ

The two henchmen can't catch Jason, Judy and Abraham as they drive off to find Dr. Storm, decapitating him and leaving his body sinking into a bog.

Carter (Kenneth Benda) checks their tickets before allowing Abraham and Judy board the train. The Tooting line platform at Merton Park station in Wimbledon.

The two find Jason already on board the train. Merton Park station. The train is Electric Multiple Unit number 5789 which was originally allocated to the Newcastle upon Tyne suburban network.

Dr. Storm returns from the bog to kill Carter. The former route to Tooting at Merton Park station in London SW19.

A shot taken from the right distance wouldn't reveal this part of the platform ramp that remains to this day so Tudor J. L. Jones ventured a little nearer.
