I Live in Grosvenor Square

Perhaps North Audley Street, leading to Oxford Street, from Grosvenor Square, W1. A large PX store was in this street in the 50's and 60's, where imported goods, not seen in British shops, were available to US forces. Actors or passing servicemen?

Probably NW corner of Grosvenor Square and North Audley Street, W1. Roy tells us that there are actors in the truck.........oh, really!?! Better views of the square are seen in 'The Statue, 'Children of the Damned', 'For Better, For Worse', 'Maytime in Mayfair' and 'A Game for Vultures'.

London Street, Holborn? City? And, says Roy, more actors are lurking in the taxi. .....And the band played "Believe it if you like". Molly identifies this as Chancery Lane, I will put up a Google shot to support at the end of the week. (RL)

Monument Street, City of London, EC. And without actors all we are doing is a documentary. And, yes, we know that actors are lurking in the taxi, but we can't see them. But, as Roy is such a good contributor, we'll let him get away with this. One time only!

Peter was on a amble in the City of London and it was a joy to see most of The Monument finished after renovation, so here's a shot of the same location now.

Railway station, in the country, lots of trees in the background, with actors, well done Roy. Glyn Horton believes this to be Ivybridge in Devon on the main line between Totnes and Plymouth. Not the current station, but the original station that closed in the 1960's and was just west of a viaduct (perhaps visible in the capture). (RL) ... and Andy MacDouall suggests, "South Brent Station. I lived in Brent for many years and elderly locals mentioned as being paid extras. Also confirmed by local historian Chips Barber in his book: Railways on and around Dartmoor." (SJ)

Kevin Clarke identifies, with photographic proof, Old Postern on the Dartington Hall estate. Kevin adds, "Unfortunately a bit derelict these days.The bell tower was removed some years ago and one can no longer see Dartington church in the background because of the trees." (SJ)

In March 2018 George Collings said that he saw the filming, when he was a little younger than he is now. The film crew had shut the churchyard gates but the groundsman said "you have no right to keep parishioners out" and reopened them.
