After Humbert shoots Quilty, the film skips back four years to the Professor arriving in the film's Ramsdale, New Hampshire. Westerly station on Railroad Avenue, Westerly, Rhode Island.

Professor Humbert Humbert (James Mason) gets out of the cab and enters the house where he sees and falls for Charlotte's daughter Dolores, affectionately known as Lolita. Highburgh House, Packhorse Road in Gerrards Cross.

On this sparkling winter's day, Calvin stepped to the right to overcome a large hedge. (SJ)

Some time after marrying Charlotte Haze to be close to Lolita, Humbert runs out of the house to find that his wife has been killed in a road accident. Looking from Highburgh House towards Packhorse Road, Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire.

"Much as it was, flowerbeds and lamp-post thankfully still intact," reports Calvin who was kindly given permission by the owner to whom we all at RS are grateful. (SJ)

The Professor heads to collect Lolita from summer camp. Maybe somewhere in Newport, Rhode Island.

Whilst returning from the camp, the pair stay overnight in a hotel where Quilty and takes an interest in Lolita. Now found after half a decade by Calvin who tells us that this is the Orchard Hotel on Ickenham Road, Ruislip in Middlesex, a location that also appears in 'Many' and 'What Every Woman Wants'.

No significant changes in SJ's comparison apart from the small bushes have now grown very large preventing the same exact camera angle and the lamp post in foreground is no longer there.

After checking out of the hotel, Humbert and Lolita travel across the States. More driving through early 60's American streets.

The two pull into a petrol station after taking to the road again. London Road in Aston Clinton near Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. Shell Rubin has found the location to be specifically that of what is now (2025) the premises of 'acar2go' with one of the orginal buildings still in use. (RL)

Professor Humbert watches through the washroom window as Lolita talks with a stranger. London Road, Aston Clinton identified by Neil Hall. Now the forecourt of 'acar2go' but it is dfficult to see where the frosted window and washroom were during filming. (RL)

When Lolita becomes ill, Humbert takes her to hospital but finds that she has left with a stranger when he returns. Albany Memorial Hospital, Northern Boulevard, Albany, New York. The building now forms part of an extended complex.
