If you have any information regarding this production, the locations or, even better, some comparison shots please contact us. Images submitted must be in Landscape orientation, as would be seen on the cinema screen, not Portrait.

We are aware that there are films on the site that were added when the criteria for the inclusion of locations was very different from today and, as a result, there may be scenes missing from some productions. Please do not forward additional screen captures to us but bring the detail to our attention, for we do, and are, 're-addressing' these older entries as time allows.

Bob Hoskins, as George, heading south of the river over Waterloo Bridge.

Heading to buy flowers at the junction of Landells Road and Goodrich Road in SE22.

No flowers to be bought here now. All four corner shops at this junction have disappeared.

Bob walks towards his former home on Darrell Road, East Dulwich. Looking towards Upland Road and the entrance to Robbie Coltrane's business.

No too different after over 25 years.

This location is masquerading as Robbie Coltrane's business premises. However, this is Lombard Wharf on the bank of the Thames in SW11. The area was used in 'Sympathy for the Devil' and 'The Optimists of Nine Elms'.

Swinging round from the previous image identifies the location to be Lombard Wharf on the south bank of The Thames near Lombard Road in Battersea.

The railway bridge is variously known as Chelsea Bridge, Battersea New Bridge, Battersea Railway Bridge or Cremorne Bridge. SJ

George and Simone walking away after leaving the Caxton Hotel on Caxton Street, SW1.

Looking at the hotel's website reveals that it was used for interior shots too. The hotel has since been renamed St. Ermin's Hotel and also featured in 'Dance with a Stranger 'and 'Diamonds for Breakfast'.

Replacing Neil's Oct '19 GEV view, this north-looking shot shows the tower block Castlemaine on the corner of Culvert Road and Battersea Park Road. SJ

Pindar Street Bridge over the north end of Liverpool Street Station. The bridge was demolished as part of the redevelopment of the area.

The now demolished Pindar Street Bridge looking down onto Liverpool Street Station platforms. Better views of the station can be seen in 'The Elephant Man', 'Mission: Impossible', 'The File of the Golden Goose', 'The Entertainer' and 'I Was Monty's Double'.

IMDB says Cheney Road, St. Pancras but it looks like the cafe is part of the undercroft of St Pancras Station fronting Pancras Road. Other parts of the station feature in ‘Smashing Time’, ‘The Servant’, ‘The Ladykillers’, ‘Shirley Valentine’, ‘The Fourth Protocol’, ‘McVicar’, ‘The Comedy Man’, ‘Wings of Mystery’, ‘A Cry from the Streets’, ‘The Painted Smile’, ‘Voyage of the Damned’, ‘Nuns on the Run’ and ‘Simon and Laura’.

A lot of work has been carried out at St Pancras so not sure if this is exactly the right location but note the downpipes and the arches to the right with additional stone work.

George walking away after visiting an adult video shop. Tisbury Court, London W1 identified by Matt Gauci. Simon explains that "I used its former name of Little Crown Court, with apologies to those who were misled, in London Movie Guide. The Soho court also appears in 'Say Hello to Yesterday', 'A Business Affair', 'The Last Yellow', 'Last Night in Soho', 'The Look of Love' and the closing credits of television's 'Minder'.

Matt Gauci also provides this view.

Floral Street in London WC2 identified by Peter.

Peter captured the location and adds "The bonnet of the car to the left of centre is in Lynley Court which runs into Floral Street. The Orange sign reads Sanctuary Spa and played a hotel or casino in the film. This shot had eluded me for months and it was my old manor."

George drives through London. Ruth Patterson locates this as Rosebery Avenue EC1 which is confirmed by Doug Smith as looking towards Clerkenwell Road with the corner of Grays Inn Road to the right.

Ruth Patterson took this comparison closer to the junction, looking westward.

Sean Longden suggested that this shot was taken on Back Hill looking up onto Clerkenwell Road, London EC1.

And he is right. The same location now.

Mortwell's house . . . Phil Burkin identifies this as the rear/side of a house called "The Knoll" in Mounts Pond Road, Blackheath. He was working in the area at the time of filming. Living nearby, as he did when the film was made, Jonathan C. adds that the property used to have two names, The Knoll and Old Knoll, because the house was divided, but it has since been re-united into one house.

Only an aerial Google view was thought possible but this replaces that with a reasonable, though I say so myself, effort. Taken from the corner of Mounts Pond Road and Granville Park on Blackheath Common, SE13. SJ

After leaving Mortwell's house. Mounts Pond Road in Blackheath identified by Jonathan C.

Phil Burkin confirmed this to be Blackheath with the houses in the background being in Aberdeen Terrace. Taken in front of Granville Park, behind me, because the trees have "exploded" and it would be tricky to replicate even in winter. SJ

Phil Burkin advises that this is the front gate of the "Old Knoll." Jonathan C. comments "I can remember seeing Michael Caine there when this scene was filmed. The two number 9s on the gate pillars must have been temporary additions."
