Bert Gusset (John Gay) leaves the house that stands next to the titular alley. It was the bollards just out of shot in this capture but revealed in the next, that captured the location for Dave W, 6a Putney Embankment SW15 on its corner with Spring Passage alleyway. (RL)

The owner of the boarding house, on the film's Candover Street W11, makes his way to work. The three bollards where Spring Passage ascends from Putney Embankment towards Lower Richmond Road. In modern times the family is now extended to four with the addition of a junior member Dave finds. (RL)

A little later, Jack MacMahon (Sean Caffrey) leaves the lodging house. The two previous captures leads Dave W to say that Jack is looking towards 5 Putney Embankment and Glendarvon Street. Trees growing beside the river are seen reflected in the window. (RL)

That evening, two vagrant buskers, Sybil (Doris Fishwick) and Akki (Peter Farrell), make their way to the alley to sleep. The pair are walking into Dunworth Mews off Portobello Road, London W11 with The Castle public house standing in the background.

A Policeman (Richard Eden) approaches as a Hippie (Miguel Sergides) sings and plays guitar with his spliff smoking friends. Dunworth Mews W11 can also be seen in 'Mantrap'.

Back up is called by the Officer and a police car screeches into view. Looking out of Dunworth Mews onto Portobello Road. The continuity of the scene over the previous captures and this one suggests that the alley runs north from Dunworth Mews, it doesn't.

Various lengths of Portobello Road make an appearance in a number of productions including ‘Notting Hill’, ‘Pressure’, ‘The Wind of Change’, ‘Seven Green Bottles’, ‘Breaking Glass’, ‘West 11’, ‘The Mine and the Minotaur’, ‘Tonite Let's All Make Love in London’, ‘Mantrap’, ‘The File of the Golden Goose’, ‘The Italian Job’, ‘Villain’, ‘Who Done It?’, ‘The Gentle Trap’ and ‘The Traitors’.

A film within a film, the young couple watch 'It Happened Here' at the cinema. This is the village of Eashing south of Guildford in Surrey which can also be seen in 'It Happened Here'.

In the early hours of the following morning, Jack leaves the pub after a night of heavy drinking. Portobello Road in W11. The railway bridge in the distance carries the Hammersmith & City Line between Westbourne Park and Ladbroke Grove.
