Can you help:

If you have any information regarding this production, the locations or, even better, some comparison shots please contact us. Images submitted must be in Landscape orientation, as would be seen on the cinema screen, not Portrait.

We are aware that there are films on the site that were added when the criteria for the inclusion of locations was very different from today and, as a result, there may be scenes missing from some productions. Please do not forward additional screen captures to us but bring the detail to our attention, for we do, and are, 're-addressing' these older entries as time allows.

Taplow Court in Buckinghamshire.

A better shot replacing the Google shot, which Neil proves was and is Taplow Court on the south end of Cliveden Road as it comes into Taplow. SJ

Taplow Court on Cliveden Road, Taplow near Maidenhead.

Now. SJ

Taplow Court was also seen in 'What a Carve Up!' advises Andrew Mitchell.

The Main Entrance to the Taplow Court building, taken by Clive Dawson.

Taplow Court also appeared in 'The Calendar' from1948 and 25 years later in 'Baffled!'.

No, the front door, and Clive Dawson provides another, closer shot.

This won't be a million miles away.

NR found Berry Hill, Taplow providing an aerial shot "until Google drive down or someone takes a camera to the site. Ottawa Cottage." Done. SJ

As above.

A full frontal of the cottage. SJ

As close as I dare without intrusion. SJ

Another shot of the cottage.

Now. SJ

Nor, I imagine, will this be.

Cliveden Road and Berry Hill, Taplow. G/NRigby. Now replacing the google shot. SJ

Closer up

Now, Berry Hill as it becomes Cliveden Road. SJ

A diversion is met as Wyngarde heads for Cornwall.

Clive Dawson identifies this as the junction of Dagger Lane and Aldenham Road in Elstree, Hertfordshire, sending this shot as confirmation. Image copyright Google Streetview.

Wyngarde follows his wife Blair to Cornwall. this house still stands, as far as I can make out on Google, off Cape Cornwall Road just west of Saint Just.

Lionel and Cynthia Sear in action again. Changes perfectly captured to contrast with the intransmutable coastline.

Another shot with Cape Cornwall in the background.

The lean-to is widely used in Cornwall and you will even find lean-tos on lean-tos. In this case the lean-to has gone and the original cottage gutted before the substantial additions. Great shot from Lionel Sear.

The cape in the background as Wyngarde enters the cottage.

Looking north over Porth Ledden towards Kenidjack Castle, but the north of the building is private and not accessible and so Lionel Sear took a picture from the footpath and got it just right!

And another shot

Looking west towards the Cape Cornwall ‘chimney’ from a footpath. Great shot from Lionel Sear.

A ruined church? No, Clive Dawson advises that the 'ruined church' is not a real location; it was a set, built on the sound stages at Elstree studios by production designer Jack Shampan.

Blair at the beach: imdb suggests Porthcurno, and it does look like the east end of the bay. Lionel Sear confirms that this is Pedn Vounder beach at very low tide, the easternmost at Porthcurno along with the famous Logan Rock.

Having patiently waited for the perfect tide, Lionel risked life and limb to descend the tortuous path to the beach to provide us with the excellent comparative shot. Meanwhile, Cynthia observed from above clutching his life insurance policy. (RL)

Looking west at Porthcurno. The location is seen in ‘Carnival’, ‘The Young Lovers’ and ‘Naked as Nature Intended’.

Whilst on the beach Lionel panned west from 019n to capture this shot of Minack Point advising that Minack Theatre is just out of shot. Thankfully he survived the return upward journey to Cynthia. (RL)

These next three are additional grabs with matching nows featuring Wyngarde compiled and offered by Clive (CD) who also contributed to 13 and 18. (SJ)

Just love the matching rocks, Clive. (SJ)

The cliffs overlooking Pedn Vounder Beach in Cornwall.

Ditto. (SJ)

Pedn Vounder Beach itself, which can be glimpsed in 'Carnival'.

And a final matching now from CD with our thanks. (SJ)
