It maybe South Fork, Pa. but another well founded opinion is the engine switch is on the east slope, two miles east of the ‘Horseshoe’ that would establish the water on the left of screen as the lower reservoir, at a time when it was being built.

Dan Davidson adds that he once read an article about the movie and in that particular piece it suggested that the scene was filmed near Tyrone. He had family who lived in South Fork and he doesn’t ever recall any of them mentioning a movie being done there.  He watched the Broadway Limited with his uncle on more than one occasion and if there was something at South Fork, he is sure he would have caught it. 

Subsequently, Dan paid a visit to the Tyrone Historical Society and asked if they were aware of a movie once being filmed in the area, the gentleman there told him that he had heard rumors about that, but had nothing to verify it.
