In a 1926 Rolls-Royce saloon, Vulnavia returns to Maldine Square after releasing vampire bats into the bedroom of Dr. Dunwoody. Caldecote Towers at Immanuel College on Elstree Road in Bushey, Hertfordshire.

Vulnavia rushes up the steps of the imposing mansion belonging to Dr. Anton Phibes. The grade II listed Caldecote Towers also features in ‘Subterfuge’, ‘High Road to China’ and ‘So Evil, So Young'.

The following morning, Inspector Harry Trout and Sergeant Tom Schenley begin their murder investigation at Dr. Dunwoody’s house.

On another evening the Rolls-Royce is parked outside the home of Dr. Longstreet as Phibes commits another homicide inside.

Geoff tells us that this is also Little Common but looking towards Stanmore Hill. Some redevelopment here also with the building to the left having gone some years ago. The Google StreetView shows the house to the right with the correct brickwork and picket fence. (RL)
