Back streets of Victoria?

More Westminster really, Dave W located Great Peter Street, London SW1 looking east. The lampost and much else remains the same but Albert's street cleaning cart would have been useful when he was visiting.

Albert was in the yard of the corporation depot with Monck Street seen behind him through the covered entrance. Now replaced by Vestry Court with a gated entrance and a courtyard garden. Dave W provides the view that pertains for its residents looking out across desirable Monck Street. (RL)

That looks like Westminster Cathedral.

The courtyard garden of Vestry Court would still have a distant view of Westminster Cathedral if it wasn't for the 'ouses in between. Looking in the same direction in modern times we must make do with a nude sculpture. Spied here through the front entrance of Vestry Court, Dave W found that she is not even wearing a vest. (RL)

Idle makes an appearance in his own brainchild: he was delighted to receive a copy of this, unseen since 1968 when it came out in a double bill with "Up The Junction." Eric himself remembers this as Westbourne Grove, W11.

"I make "Eric's" house at 35 Ladbroke Gardens: further info from Eric said "junction of Westbourne Grove and Ladbroke Grove" - he's right - except - Westbourne G feeds into Ladbroke Gardens which then juncts at Ladbroke Grove." Simon sent in a perfect google match which settled it in Dec 2015. Well remembered, Eric, and here's a now shot to replace the google. SJ

A church. As a result of albecar024 being located this is easy, The Parish Church of St. Mary The Boltons, London SW10 and John points out that the chain link fence has been replaced by railings which in no way compare to the original cast iron ones. (RL)

Another long outstanding location resolved today, Ray and Ron Glenister find Russell Gardens, London W14 looking towards Holland Road. The post box is still there and you still have to turn left at the end. (RL)

As with all this set in W14, parked cars hampered correct angles. This is taken from the pavement rather than road to show the postbox in its full vintage glory. SJ

Neill McKenzie contacted us to inform that he was the boy In the backgound. "I still remember the shoot to this day. A nicer man you could not meet. Spent the day sitting in a director's chair aged 8, drinking tea with Roy himself, being advised on how best to kick his leaves to kingdom come."

Berwick Street market?? Excuse me! Locals would bristle at this slight to their local market of Strutton Ground at its junction with Greycoat Place. Dave W revisited now that the street works have been completed and found the "back streets" free of protesters. (RL)

Setting off for Buckingham Palace from Monck Street with Horseferry Road to the rear, Dave W noticed that the black and white dormer windows to the right of Albert's right (his left) shoulder remain. (RL)
