Anoop and the Elephant (Children’s Film Foundation)

Anoop (Anoop Singh) runs back to his school's camping site after seeing a poster advertising Reco's Circus. Bridge 178 on the Grand Union Canal at Black Jack's Lock near Harefield in the London Borough of Hillingdon with The Bungalow to the right.

Reaching the site, he is told off by teachers Miss Flint and Mr Skinner for going missing.

While the other pupils are taken to the circus by Mr Skinner, Miss Flint sleeps after giving Anoop the washing up to complete.

Leaving the chores, Anoop makes his way to the circus and looks for a way into the big top.

After the show, Anoop bumps into Billy (Phil Daniels) and Linda (Linda Robson) as they leave the circus.

Ringmaster Mr. Reco (Richie Stewart) offers £300 of the £500 that he owes Monty Barker (George Roderick) and his son Sydney (Ian Allis) who refuse to take a part payment.

Learning that Monty intends to take Ranee the elephant as payment for the Ringmaster's debt, Billy, Linda and Anoop make a plan to prevent her from being flown to Monty Barker's Three Ring Circus in Belgium.

Penny (Rachel Brennock) speaks with her Dad Blondini (Herbert Wroe) who agrees to help the children.

Monty Barker drives away with a donkey in the back of his van that's been switched with Ranee.

Anoop and his schoolmates lead Ranee away from the circus.

Ranee is hidden beneath a canal bridge as Monty's Austin VA van approaches. Bridge 178 and Black Jack's Lock on the Grand Union Canal near Harefield, which also appears in 'The Bargee'.

Everyone gets out of the van before Monty suggests that they eat. The much extended Bell House is presently a Crowne Plaza hotel.

The building stands on the site of a much older inn and has been extended many times in the course of its life. PW

Monty tells Ranee's Trainer that the elephant will be fine in the back of the van overnight. The Bell House Hotel is also seen in 'A Fire Has Been Arranged'.

The next morning, as Sydney discovers the donkey in the back of the van, Anoop takes Ranee from camp site where she had been hidden in one of the tents for the night.

Anoop and Ranee reach a farm.

Ranee is led through the farm as Farmer Briggs (Jimmy Edwards) brings his horse for a drink from the opposite direction.

After the horse has taken a drink, the Farmer leads her towards a waiting horsebox.

Directed by young Nicky, Monty drives from the circus after confronting the Ringmaster about the missing elephant.

Monty attempts to restart the van after it stalls while crossing a ford.

Farmer Briggs shakes Mr. Reco's hand and gives £200 as a reward after Ranee helps to retrieve his horsebox following a crash.

As Sydney finds Ranee and the children before loading her into his van, the Ringmaster makes his way from the farm to pay Monty. Court Farm on Village Road, Denham in Buckinghamshire, which also appears in 'Kadoyng'.

Bondini takes the van with Ranee in the back as Monty and his son follow in a clown's car. The unnamed road running alongside the M40 to the south of Beaconsfield with Gardener's Cottage at the entrance to the Hall Barn estate on the right and the sign for Junction 2 of the motorway in the left distance.

Penny operates the remote control for the clown's car causing the doors to fall off while smoke and flames burst from the engine. Coming into view on the left is Hall Barn House near Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire.

Making his way to Hall Barn House for the annual 'Autumn Fair', Malcolm Tinnelly paused to take this view of the same corner of the property.

Keeping his feet on the ground and avoiding the stalls of the annual charity Autumn Fair, Malcolm Tinnelly captured a closer view of the house.
