A scene-setting pan shot of central London starts from the Post Office Tower.

It's 6am as a documentary crew films Vim Fuego in his flat. Chantry Point tower block on the Elgin Estate in London W9, which was demolished in 1992.

Vim is on his way to visit fellow band member Den Dennis. Unidentified location, although the architecture in the following shots suggests the Elgin Estate.

Vim (Adrian Edmonson) and Den (Nigel Planer) stage a meeting for the documentary.

Den heads off to board the tour bus.

In the van, Vim and Den drive to pick up Colin. Unidentified location.

Vim and Colin (Rik Mayall) call on Spider Webb (Peter Richardson). 38 Avondale Park Road W11 .

Around the corner from the previous capture, Den's in chase as the van passes a pub. The Bridport Arms, 12 Avondale Park Road W11, now in residential use.

All aboard, the band reach Stirling Corner roundabout, Barnet, Greater London, with the King's Head public house in the distance.

We have Denis Hoare's assurance that the ex-King's Head would be visible if those trees in the center of the roundabout hadn't been there. Of course we believe Denis, we know his standards. Giving up on a Transit van passing he substituted a taxi. Oh yes, the white car in ther background he says was exiting to the A1. (RL)

They head off for The North, taking the A1 exit at Stirling Corner.

Denis took this shot from the same spot as the previous capture, with the camera swung to the left showing the A1 exit off this roundabout towards 'The North'. In this shot he was spoilt for choice with regard to substituted the Transit van. (RL)

Along the way they pick up schoolgirl groupie Tracy (Dawn French), and stop off at a service station where they meet music journalist Sally (Jennifer Saunders). Geoff Dodd provides evidence to locate this as South Mimms Services also seen in 'Universal Soldier (1971)' and many other films. (RL)

The boys argue amongst themselves as to whether they are heavy metal or not. Geoff is also able to place this as the A1 southbound with the white houses of Wansford Park visible to the left of Rik Mayall and the Rowley Lane bridge in the middle distance above the red van. (RL)

Then the boys argue with the Director of the documentary (Sandy Johnson). Not much to go on here. Geoff Dodd didn't need much, he saw the tallest building as Gaitskell House on Howard Drive, Borehamwood, Herts as seen from the A1. (RL)

They reach the Roxy, Grantham, actually the Roxy Theatre, Craven Park Road, London, NW10, which was originally an Odeon Cinema built in 1937 and demolished in 1989.

Sally interviews the Manager of the venue (Neville Smith). The Roxy Theatre, Harlesden, where the remainder of the story plays out.
