Storyline:
In the midst of the Russian Revolution of 1905, the crew of the battleship Potemkin mutiny against the brutal, tyrannical regime of the vessel’s officers. The resulting street demonstration in Odessa brings on a police massacre.

A closer view of Stroganovskyi Bridge. Denis Polishchuk explains that the original bridge seen in the film was built in 1860s was fully reconstructed in 1980s.

Potemkin Stairs, all 198 of them, have a variety of architectural tricks imposed upon them. From the top one can see the landings, but not the steps, and from below, the steps but not the landings. A false perspective was created by having the top steps narrower than the bottom ones.

The panic begins on the Potemkinskya Steps. In reality the massacre took place in nearby streets, not on the steps.
