A multitude of bikes are carefully ridden around the school playground as pupils take their Cycling Proficiency Tests. The playground doesn't look as if it could accommodate a Cycling Proficiency Test in Antony Blair's modern view.

Through the school fence, Butch (Paul Burton) and his friends make fun of Lil. Looking across Heathfield Recreation Ground with properties on Powder Mill Lane crossing the distance. Nat Bocking continues "The kids came from the London stage schools like Corona and the Wendy Wisbey agency. Sadly I didn’t get to meet Peter Noone but I think the Moke he's driven around in was also used as a camera car."

Antony comments that the tree to the left is doing well.

As the taunts continue, Lil leans her Moulton Standard on a bench before crossing to the boys.

After a competition is suggested, Lil's brother John (Keith Chegwin) exercises while his mates prepare his cycle.

A few yards away, Butch's bike is decorated with tape.

Promising to take the course if he loses, Butch and John listen to Peter Noone (Himself) explaining the rules of the contest before getting into his car.

The two boys get ready for the starting whistle.

Butch speeds away without stopping at the junction.

In the lead but losing points, Butch approaches another junction. Facing Heston Road from Sutton Road in Hounslow.

From his Mini Moke, Peter looks back to see the two competitors approach a zebra crossing. Looking south-eastward on Powder Mill Lane with the corner of Chiltern Avenue on the right.

The crossing has since been moved as evidenced by Antony's shot.

Good and bad reports of cycling are radioed back to the scorekeeper.

Riding along the middle of the road, Butch gains no points at all. Facing south-east on Lyndhurst Avenue with Cheyne Avenue crossing ahead.

The two boys approach a dangerous crossroads.

A Policeman on point duty signals for the two cyclists to stop. The junction of Bear Lane, Sunbury Way, Hounslow Road and Twickenham Road in Hanworth.

Ross Hamilton followed in the tracks of Keith Chegwin et all by riding around the much changed location to gather this and the following comparisons.

Butch gets of his bike and pushes it onto the pavement. The junction was obliterated when Twickenham Road was widened to create Country Way but Hanworth Village Hall, to the top right, still stands.

Ross Hamilton's shot shows how the area has been devastated.

Trying to get ahead, Butch wheels his machine over the junction's pedestrian crossings. The Oxford Arms public house on Twickenham Way, Hanworth.

The road layout has changed considerably and Ross admits that his views are probably not 100% correct.

The corner of Bear Lane and Sunbury Way. The War Memorial to the left has been moved to the corner of Main Street and Green Lane in Hanworth but the Brown Bear public house in the backgound was demolished in 1973.

Ross Hamilton explains that the site of the Brown Bear is now under the A316 and the war memorial has been moved 500 yards up the road.

Butch is still held up by traffic. The Oxford Arms at the corner of Hounslow Road and Twickenham Road in Hanworth, Greater London.

The Oxford Arms was still standing when Ross Hamilton was growing up but recalls that it was knocked down and replaced by flats in the mid 1990s.

Peter gets out of the Moke to see how the two contestants get on at a set of traffic lights. The Wellington Road South service road at the junction where Nelson Road and Hanworth Road meet, found by Antony Blair.

Butch speeds down hill towards a traffic signal as it changes to amber. Antony locates this as facing south on Nelson Road in Hounslow with the bridge over the railway to the north of Hounslow Junction in the left background.

The end of the competition sees Butch and his friends agree to take the Cycling Proficiency Test.
