With his plane in flames, Canadian Michael McCall bails out over enemy territory.

Captured as soon as he lands, McCall is blinded during an escape attempt from Stalag 51.

Ten years after surgery and joining Reviere Perfumes in Toronto, McCall flies into London to do business with several fashion houses. Looking past Nelson’s Column in Trafalgar Square SW1 towards Admiralty Arch and The Mall in the bottom left and Spring Gardens to the bottom right.

Taken from ground level, but at the correct angle. SJ

McCall makes his own way from the airport when Lawson from the company’s London office fails to meet him. Facing north-east along Strand with St. Mary-le-Strand church in the left distance.

One can just make out the church at the end of Strand. And there have been some alterations on the right. SJ

Looking west from Cannon Street in EC4 towards St. Paul’s Churchyard with Carter Lane on the extreme left. Similar views of the location appear in 'Stranger in the City', 'The League of Gentlemen', 'Stage Fright', ‘His and Hers’, ‘The Lavender Hill Mob’ and ‘King of the Underworld’.

Found this quite tricky to match: taken from the intersection of Queen Victoria Street looking down Cannon Street. SJ

Michael McCall (Philip Friend) is collected by Janet Hillyer (Diana Decker) the day after a cocktail party at Bartel's where the voice of the Man who betrayed the escape from Stalag 51 was heard. White House on Albany Street in NW1.

Driving between London's fashion houses, the two set off to trace the traitor from fourteen years earlier. Identified by Geoff Dodd as Portland Place, London W1 at the junction with New Cavendish Street. (RL)

Janet parks up outside the film's Fleming textiles. Dave W finds that it wasn't long before Janet parked up, ouside 1 Duchess Street to be precise with 12 Hallam Street to the right. (RL)

The camera follows the pair from the car to the building's entrance as they enter the premises of the penultimate name on the list. As Dave said in the previous capture, 1 Duchess Street, W1 (RL)

The two arrive outside the home of Robert Bartel’s photographer Tony Adams where McCall hears the traitor’s voice through the front door before shots are fired. Clarence Gardens NW1. The houses were demolished to make way for the Regents Park Estate. (SR)

McCall is discovered next to Adams’ body and Inspector Baring takes him to headquarters for questioning before placing him under arrest. From a different angle to the usual, this is New Scotland Yard North on Victoria Embankment SW1.

A shot perhaps better taken in winter, as much is obscured in autumn. SJ

Police cars are alerted to search the streets after McCall breaks his arrest. A grainy, dark view with what appears to be a public house to the left. Dave W remains a 'bus spotter', thus helping him locate Golders Green Road, NW11 with Golders Green Crescent on the left and the lights of the 'Hippodrome' in the distance. (RL)
