Antiques dealer Henri Landru accompanies nightclub performer Odette home to her lodgings where she explains that she's in need of money for her mother's operation. A studio set at Elstree Studios in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire included to set the scene.

Landru rushes to help when Madam Dueaux, a young widow that he's met, accidentally falls through a rusting fence on a footbridge over a railway during an argument. This appears to be another set.

To cover up the manslaughter, Henri Landru (George Sanders) picks up the lifeless Vivienne Dueaux (Patricia Roc) and places her body across one of the rails. The previous capture was a set, however, the British railway wagons in the left background are real enough. This is likely to be the goods yard at Stanmore Village station in Stanmore, Middlesex. At the time of filming, the line was still open for goods traffic.

A Shunter signals a train to start away along the track on which Vivienne's corpse is lying. With little else visible, the small embankment to the right matches the layout in the goods sidings at Stanmore Village station.

While newspapers report the suicide of an unknown woman, Giselle Dueaux reports her missing sister to Commissaire Lefevre.

After meeting wealthy spinster Julienne Guillin as she places a matrimonial advertisement in a newspaper, Landru accompanies an Estate Agent (Keith Pyott) to the remote villa that he has leased.

Catching a train to Gambais, Landru takes Julienne to the villa where he promises her a wonderful time. Facing Gare de l'Est station on Rue de Strasbourg in the 10th arrondissement of Paris. The road was renamed Rue du 8-Mai-1945 in 1966.

After obtaining a letter to her bank and the key to her apartment, Landru poisons Julienne before dismembering her body for disposal.

Landru and Odette (Corinne Calvet) continue to enjoy each others company while she spends the money that he keeps providing. In the right background stands the Moulin Rouge on Boulevard de Clichy in the 18th arrondissement of Paris.

At the top of the Eiffel Tower, Landru meets with Cynthia, his bride to be, who tells him that she's decided to go back to London. The 330 metre Eiffel Tower stands within Champ de Mars in the 7th arrondissement.

With Cynthia recently drowned in the bath at her apartment, Landru returns to the villa with a bouquet of flowers for Jeanette.

That night, with two heavy suitcases in the boot, Landru drives to a construction site.

At the National Library, Landru examines old issues of newspapers in search of details about millionaire Jacques Boyer, the missing husband of his latest target.

Following a trail of clues, Giselle Dueaux (Ingrid Hafner) arrives in Gambais and, after asking the Station Master questions, makes her way to Landru's villa. The canopy pillars and brackets identify this as the single platform of Stanmore Village station on the branch line from Harrow & Wealdstone which stood at the junction of Gordon Lane and Old Church Lane in Stanmore, Middlesex.

Moments later, a taxi drops Landru at the station. The front of Stanmore Village station which had closed to passengers in 1952 before being used extensively for 'The Gold Express' made in 1955.

Having crossed paths with Giselle, Landru speaks with the Station Master (Paul Whitsun-Jones) who tells him that a young lady had been looking for him. Rather than Stanmore Village station, we're probably back in the studio for this scene.
