Case of the River Morgue, The (A Scotland Yard supporting feature)

Peter Bywaters found that the building to the right has been replaced by new one which is a study centre for English. The shops remain albeit with new frontages.

When the unidentified body is discovered to be missing before reappearing, Detective Inspector O'Maddern and Detective Sergeant Stafford begin their investigation. Identified by Peter Bywaters, this is the Manor Club and Institute at 76 Kingston Road, Wimbledon SW19 which is also seen in ‘Late Night Final’.

Now converted into flats called the Manor Club as recorded here by Peter.

After the corpse is identified as Mark Hiller and the case closed, the curious Inspector O'Madden returns to speak with Mrs. Hiller following her husband's cremation. Canbury Court on Lower Ham Road, Kingston-upon-Thames, Surrey.

Detective Sergeant Stafford (Gordon Boyd) and Detective Inspector O'Madden (Hugh Moxey) leave Mrs. Hiller after finding that Mark's last insulin prescription and his hypodermic are missing. The entrance to Canbury Court.

Hiller's dog follows the pair from the building as Inspector O'Madden decides that a visit to the chemist is in order. The Canbury Court in Kingston-upon-Thames.

The hedge has grown and the wall survives.

Sergeant Stafford is asked to meet the Inspector O'Madden at Wilson's chemist later. Looking towards the corner of Lower Ham Road and Bank Lane.

Where the police car was parked is now one of three flower containers blocking the road off to traffic.

Peter found a very pleasant spot along the river, now with benches.

The boat house on the far bank still exists and appears to be having some work done to it as a large dust sheet is hanging over the doorway.

Wondering about the missing insulin and hypodermics, Sergeant Stafford is asked to arrange for the river and towpath to be searched. Outside Merton Park Studios on Kingston Road with Nelson Hospital on The Rush in the right background.

The Wolseley pulls away after enquiries at insurance companies are deemed appropriate. Looking north-east along Kingston Road SW19.

Officers begin to scour the riverbed and shores shortly before Sergeant Stafford discovers that an insurance payout of £10,000 was paid to Mrs. Hiller. Peter Bywaters identifies this stretch of the River Thames as downstream from Teddington Lock on the Ham Lands in Surrey with the river gardens and boat houses belonging to properties of Strawberry Vale in Twickenham on the Middlesex bank.

Peter found that the boat house to the right of frame still exists today.
