We are aware that there are films on the site that were added when the criteria for the inclusion of locations was very different from today and, as a result, there may be scenes missing from some productions. Please do not forward additional screen captures to us but bring the detail to our attention, for we do, and are, 're-addressing' these older entries as time allows.

Hudson (or double) drives his Rolls through various tourist sites of Milan and arrives here..."More accurately, the steps to the entrance of the partially visible Pirelli Tower by the Piazza Duca d'Aosta. The skyscraper from 1958 was the tallest building in Italy until 1995." Manuel G.

Manuel Gurtner comments with his comparison, "Taken a little more to the right, after more then 60 years on the south-western site of the enormous Piazza Duca d'Aosta. Times have changed, so the access by the large stairway in front of the so-called Pirellone, now the seat of the Parliament of the Lombardy Region, has been spoiled by chicanes and a safety barrier in front of it." It was ever thus, Manuel (SJ)

Lollobrigida and Howard at the Piazza Navona, Rome
Now, same bench position, lamppost and unchanged after 60 years. SJ

Darin and co. blocking Hudson's progress, a very challenging location, maybe La Spezia... No, inspired by Manuel pointing out Castel Gandolfo in capture 14, this is the narrow road leading from the Vigna di Corte into the Piazza della Libertà.

That town and hill should be recognisable: in the lake Albano region probably... "Indeed, because this is the picturesque town of Rocca di Papa, situated on the slopes of Monte Cavo, seen from Via delle Barozze." Manuel G.

Manuel's googleshot shows a lot of tree growth. (SJ)

The front entrance of Hudson's villa as he greets Slezak..."Actually the entrance to the Villa delle Palme at Corso Nicolò Cuneo 60 in Santa Margherita Ligure." Manuel

Thanks Google the comparison shot towards the entrance with the villa above. MG (SJ)

Darin and Dee who were married soon after this film. This is the view from Hudson's terrace. That does not look like Portofino though... And thanks to Manuel, my doubts were true. "In fact the view from the small parking lot at the Corso Nicolò Cuneo beneath the villa towards the harbour of Santa Margherita Ligure. In the background, between the couple, the white building of the Grand Hotel Miramare can be recognized." Manuel

The comparative view from the Corso Nicolò Cuneo nearby the entrance to the Villa delle Palme. Google/MG (SJ)

Lollobrigida and Hudson. I'm still worried about that view... "A splendid view from the terrace of Villa delle Palme towards the Porto di Santa Margherita Ligure, enabling the western extremity of the peninsula in the Gulf of Tigullio to be identified too." Manuel. This is just a few miles to the north of Portofino so the correct area.

Ruins, maybe Ostia Antica?
Not at all convincing but it has the right look as far as ruins go. SJ

Hudson and Lollobrigida enjoy the picnic. After my hesitation with Ostia Antica, I really went to (ancient) town and pulled some added stills just to make sure I had the correct place.

This is the area of the basilca in the forum in regio I and one can make out the steps to the Capitolium, also seen in "The Tenth Victim." SJ

Another terrace overlooking the Mediterranean... No I'm wrong. Manuel G has identified the view from the Villa del Cardinale near Rocca di Papa over the Lago Albano. Above the volcanic crater lake the town of Castel Gandolfo can be recognized, well-known as the Pope's summer residence.
