A little more about the crash scene . . . . Kevin Hunter provides this picture, taken by his late father John Walter Hunter, adding that "A large crowd of people had gathered to witness the spectacle. My friends and I had been given time off school to watch and were at the front of the crowd. My Dad was in the back yard of the Royal Victoria on the other side of the bridge on which the film crew had removed some of the cast metal railings from the bridge and replaced them with wooden ones for obvious reasons. We heard the car approaching and watched it crash through the railings and into the water. It was all very quick. However, the stuntman did not appear quickly and observers became worried. When he eventually surfaced he was unceremoniously dragged from the water by the crew of a local speedboat, hired for the day, called Miss Dorset which was usually employed to take holiday makers on trips around Weymouth Bay but. My Dad was a keen photographer and captured the moment perfectly as the pub landlord was his best friend."
