Searching for vampires, Professor Abronsius and his assistant Alfred travel through Transylvania. A moonlit matte starts the film where most of the action takes place at MGM British Studios in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire. Manuel Gurtner tells us "In contrast to Vampires, the winter landscape is very real, as we see the Seiser Alm (Alpe di Siusi) above Gröden (Val Gardena), South Tyrol, Italy, in February 1966. In the distance the striking summit of the Langkofel mountain range as part of the Dolomites can be seen. By the way, the full moon was on Saturday, 5th February."
