After Detective Inspector Larry Holt learns that Ingle held a £20,000 policy with Dr. Orloff's Greenwich Insurance Company, a boat train arrives from Southampton carrying passengers from the SS New York. Waterloo station in SE1.

Detective Inspector Holt awaits the arrival of Lieutenant Patrick O'Reilly of the Chicago Police Department who has escorted forger Fred Grogan from the United States.

Following the discovery of her Father's body in the river, a car speeds Detective Inspector Holt and Lieutenant O'Reilly to Diana Stuart's apartment when the lights go out and a Figure breaks in. This appears to be looking north-east along Victoria Street and Broad Sanctuary SW1 with the Houses of Parliament in the distance,

Slightly tricky angle and this would prefer a winter shot to reveal the Elizabeth Tower behind the trees.

Night time dashes through the streets depict the progress of Detective Inspector Holt as the net closes in on Dr. Orloff. Dave W sees the taxi sweeping from London Road SE1 towards New Kent Road. In the gap between a bus and a 56 tram he see the illuminated sign of Burton's store at Elephant & Castle. (RL)

In support of Dave, Burton's was at 67-68 London Road and situated in the (now) road of the roundabout in front of Elephant Arcade and Perronet House, here seen on the left, which have replaced all the buildings in the triangle of Princess Street, St. George's Road and London Road. The extended roundabout also put paid to the Alfred's Head pub which also extended onto the (now) road and has left a bit of a vacancy on the right. A similar view was seen in TV's 'Strike.' SJ

The race to rescue Miss Stuart continues as Dr. Orloff's henchman Jake prepares to do away with her. The taxi continues, Dave says, into New Kent Road where it passes the first of two canopies of the Trocadero Cinema which advertises 'Today: War of the Worlds'. To be exact, Dave provides evidence that it is the first canopy, as the continuity of the road layout confirms. (RL)

Looking west towards Perronet House. The first canopy of The Trocadero was where the (unclear here) Castle sign on the white balcony is (Elephant is round the corner). The Rockingham pub next door, on the corner with Newington Causeway, was demolished in favour of the roundabout. SJ
