Michael (John Moulder-Brown) cycles to his job at Newford Swimming Baths. Steve Cook identifies Angel Lane E15 just before it was demolished to make way for the Stratford Centre. The public house is The Lion as seen in 'Bronco Bullfrog' and 'Sparrows Can't Sing' and the corner can be seen in 'What a Crazy World'.

This is taken from Artesian Gardens off Cathall Road looking south-east onto new building which occupies some of the old baths' site. The entrance we see in the film would be about here, sited on the then Argyle Street which has vanished. SJ

More cycling through the streets after Mike leaves work. Steve Cook advises that this is Angel Lane E15 again, but further along near Stratford's railway works.

Mike readies his cycle as Susan (Jane Asher) leaves work. IMDB mentions both Cathall Road Baths in Leytonstone and Fulham Pools on North End Road, Fulham. However, this may be for the internal scenes.

Ray Glenister agrees with the location being Cathall Baths and Wash House, Cathall Road, Leytonstone, London E11 and provided a Google Earth capture. This however I believe is an improved, such as it can be as there is nothing at all in common, "now" as it looks south-west along what would have been Argyle Street. SJ

Susan and her fiance Chris (Christopher Sandford) cross the road towards a seedy cinema. The corner of Hale End Road and Handsworth Road in E4. The building on the right is The County Arms public house. Information from Britmovie Forum.

The pub was doing well on Christmas Eve. SJ

Chris persuades Susan to enter the cinema. The former Regal Cinema on Hale End Road which closed in April 1971. London, E4.

The Regal is not in the greatest shape but at least it's still standing. Let's hope it's re-opened as a cinema soon. SJ

After their evening out, the couple arrive back at Susan's home. Unidentified location.

Susan is picked up by another lover, a Swimming Instructor.

Although the Cathall Baths and Wash House in Cathall Road, Leytonstone, London E11 have gone, just to the left of this shot is a new leisure centre. this is looking east across Cathall Road towards the long-gone Beulah Road which can be seen behind the postbox in the "then". SJ

Mike rides in front of the Swimming Instructor's car and hits the kerb. Richard Brown identifies this as Cann Hall Road, London E11 and remembers the police box. (RL)

The Swimming Instructor (Karl Michael Vogler) confronts Mike. Richard Brown has spotted this as Cann Hall Road, London E11 and has happy memories of visiting the "chippy" after going to the fair. (RL)

As part of other research with Ray Glenister it has been established that the "chippy" was at No 328 Cann Hall Road, now a private house, and this is the furthest east Cann Hall Road goes before it meets the Wanstead Flats. SJ

After following Susan into town one night, Mike waits outside the club that she is visiting. Here he is entering Green's Court, London W1, Bishop's Sandwich Bar was on the corner with Peter Street. (RL)

A Hot Dog Seller (Burt Kwouk) tends his stall as Mike waits. The stall, also seen in deeen014, is in Green's Court, London W1 looking towards Brewer Street. Identified by Ray Glenister. (RL)

Whilst the Doorman's back is turned, Mike approaches the club. Peter Street, London W1 from the corner with Green's Court and the other windows of Bishop's Sandwich Bar. It would seem that the same lamp post remains in place. (RL)

Mike is seen creeping away from Susan's lover's car after placing glass under the wheels. Paul Borg identifies the location for us, Church Street, Stratford, London E15, because he lived in that area and watched the scene being filmed several times.
