If you have any information regarding this production, the locations or, even better, some comparison shots please contact us. Images submitted must be in Landscape orientation, as would be seen on the cinema screen, not Portrait.

We are aware that there are films on the site that were added when the criteria for the inclusion of locations was very different from today and, as a result, there may be scenes missing from some productions. After viewing the body of a deceased undercover policeman we are a passenger in a car driven by Layton/Steve Ross (William Sylvester) travelling down St John’s Wood High Street, Greenberry Street, London NW8 off to the right.

And now, not covered in scaffolding, that's unusual.

Our driver, Steve Ross, pulls up outside the South London Bank prior to holding the staff up at gun point. St John’s Wood High Street on the corner with Allitsen Road, London NW8

Still a bank and not a betting shop or restaurant.

He drives off with a bag of money. St. John's Wood High Street at the corner of Allitsen Road with the former Sir Isaac Newton public house to the right, which can also be seen in 'Arthur? Arthur!'.

Parking appears to be just as difficult.

A view of Scotland Yard, Derby Gate confirms that the police are now involved.

At least Scotland Yard itself remains as was.

Having established himself as an accomplished burglar, Layton/Ross is welcomed into an established gang with whom he plans the next big robbery, a jewellers. He and James Dawson (Anthony Dawson) go to survey the location. Fen Court, London EC3

When the development on the left is complete maybe the right angle without greenery can be achieved.

Reverse point of view.

Once again hampered by greenery and development.

Another reverse point of view.

A slightly less obstructed view.

Another gang member Johnny Hemick (John Meillon) arrives to collect them. Fenchurch Street, London EC3 looking East.

At least one original building remains......for now!

They drive away westwards in Fenchurch Street, Mincing Lane going off to the left.

Two bank branches that no longer exist.

Johnny, Gill Hall (Harry Baird) and Ross, as he is here, start to dig the pavement with a view to accessing the safe and avoid the alarm system. Fen Court looking east. Many years since there were fashion shops in the City.

Re-development of the subsequent re-development is now under way and the result 2 years later can be seen in Capture 15.

Meanwhile Inspector Adams (Victor Brooks) is keeping an eye on Layton/Ross from a discreet distance despite his Superintendent telling him not to. The forecourt of what was the Ionic Cinema, Finchley Road, London NW11.......a discreet distance to say the least!

The Ionic was demolished in early 1975 when the site was bought by Sainsbury's. Another sad architectural loss.

Meanwhile the getaway van makes its way to the scene of the crime. Aberdeen Place, London NW8

A substantial increase in greenery.

A further capture as the van turns the corner past Crockers Folly into Cunningham Place. Crokers Folly also appeared in 'The Last of the Blonde Bombshells'.

Swap a Bond Minicar Tourer for a Nissan.

It approaches. Fenchurch Street looking west and Cullum Street off to the right.

Rather busier these days.

Fen Court, London EC3 as seen from Fenchurch Street Circa 1961

The gang run with the stolen jewels to the van to make their escape. Looking North along Fen Court.

The promised revisit two years on now revealing more than scaffolding and hoardings. (RL)

The gang, watched by the waiting Inspector, arrive at the apartment block of Ruth Lombard (Mai Zetterling) where they are to meet Paul Varna (Joseph Fürst) who is to fence the jewels. St Stephen's Close, Avenue Road, London NW8

I have finally managed to take the "now".

Layton/Ross closes the car door. St Stephen's Close, Avenue Road, London NW8

A vacant parking place!

The gang is arrested and sentenced. A stock still of Wormwood Scrubs Prison, Du Cane Road, London W12. The prison has appeared in many productions including 'A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square', 'The Big Job', 'Frenzy', 'Fate Takes a Hand', 'Go to Blazes', 'Jungle Street', 'Nothing Barred', 'The Italian Job', 'Hot Millions', 'Morgan, a Suitable Case for Treatment', 'Seven Green Bottles', 'Rotten to the Core' and 'Three Steps to the Gallows'.

I can provide a stock still as well.
