Powers and Kaufmann outside a "TV" studio, probably Elstree... Not Elstree but close. Simon Gee has found out that these scenes were filmed in the Summer of 1964 at Holmshill School, Thrift Lane, Borehamwood. The school was closed in 2000, then demolished and is now a housing estate which will make comparisons tricky. His information comes from John Batt who was a pupil at the school and sent me the film for an Exhibition about local schools we are opening in April '24.

The Three Horse Shoes public house in Letchmore Heath, familiar to all as the 'Village of the Damned'. The pub also features in 'To Dorothy, a Son' and 'Confessions of a Window Cleaner'

Still there: the Three Horseshoes do a nice soup. The tree suggests road narrowing or a shift to the west. SJ

Is that grand house still there? Near a lake. This is where most of the film's action is set... Not a lake but The Thames. See the now.
