Shay recalls speaking with a Police Inspector (Steve Plytas) outside a mortuary in Vienna after identifying the body of Wilma Rice who was killed during "Operation Pinball".

Realising that he may have recruited an enemy agent without knowing, Shay escapes from his apartment with Brother Czech (Stefan Gryff) after making radio contact with someone posing as Raphael Gruebner. Looking southward on Cadogan Square, located by Christopher Matheson.

The two make their way to a railway station where Brother Czech parts company with Shay. The station is British, as indicated by a train passing through, and Jonathan Horsell identifies is Elstree and Borehamwood off Allum Lane in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire. The approach road can also be seen in 'School for Scoundrels', 'You Made Me Love You', 'Live Now Pay Later' and 1961's 'Return of a Stranger'.

John Shay flies to London where he is met by Polly Bendel (Judy Geeson), a secretary with the Secret Service. Heathrow Airport in Hillingdon, Greater London, renamed from London Airport in 1966.

After flying over Gorton Research Establishment, Dr. Phillip Crawford drives Shay to the facility. After Polly is fired and Shay and is suspended by department head Vaughan Jones, the downgraded agent goes to Istanbul in search of defector Racovsky.

A car horn sounds as a CIA Agent drives Shay through the crowded street.

The pair head to the United States Embassy in Istanbul. In reality, this is the Achilleion Palace in Gastouri, Corfu, which was built as a summer palace for Empress Elisabeth of Austria. (SR)

On the road outside the embassy, the Chevrolet Impala swings around towards the gates of Racovsky's safe haven. The entrance to Achilleion Palace, which at the time of filming housed a museum and a casino that was later featured in 'For Your Eyes Only'. (SR)

Racovsky (Oskar Homolka) tells Shay that the KGB has a high level source in London that courier Petkoff used to make contact with. Achilleion Palace. (SR)

Back in England, Shay questions teacher Mr. Butterfield (Peter Bull) about Kenneth Rutley, a local boy who emigrated to South America. As Geoff Dodd says "Our old friend Aldenham House at Haberdashers’ Aske’s School, Elstree, Herts." (RL)

Elizabeth Tower, misnomered as St. Stephen's or Big Ben, is just visible in both views. This is by the base of Le Sueur's equestrian statue of Charles I, which replaced the Eleanor Cross now outside Charing Cross station. This spot is considered the centre of London for the purposes of road mileage. SJ

Shay leaves the inquiry to buy cigarettes, passing Booth on the way out. Christopher Matheson explains that this is Hyde Park near the Joy of Life Fountain with Park Lane W1 visible through the trees.

Even with the trees bare, it's hard to make out the Joy of Life fountain across Park Lane on its intersection with Mount Street. SJ

After the inquiry finds that his accusations are unfounded, Shay returns home where he is shot at while parking his car. Shafto Mews in Chelsea SW1.

Receiving an urgent phone call from Phillip Crawford, Shay leaves Polly and drives over to the Doctor's house where Booth has been knocked unconscious whilst going through secret papers.

Finding an airline ticket to Athens in Booth's pocket, Shay flies to Greece after shooting the man suspected of being a double-agent.

The trailer-bus from the plane deposits Passengers outside the terminal at Athens airport.

Masquerading as Adam Booth, Shay makes his way to his hotel with Sarah Booth who was supposed to have met her husband for the flight. The upper storeys of the Athens Hilton hotel on Leoforos Vasilissis Sofias in Athens.

The shot tilts and pans to find the hotel entrance from where Shay and Sarah are being watched. The Athens Hilton hotel, currently The Ilisian, at 46 Vasilissis Sofias Avenue.

Taking up a dinner reservation left at the hotel, Sarah and Shay eat at the Dionysos restaurant. In the background above the city stands the Parthenon in the Acropolis of Athens.

Approached by CIA agent Professor Parker at the restaurant, Shay makes his way to the Acropolis after getting a cab for Sarah.

Shay pauses behind a column to watch Visitors as they climb towards the Parthenon.

Professor Parker (Alexander Scourby) makes contact with Shay, handing over a flight ticket and hotel reservation.

Taking a taxi, Shay is driven along dusty roads.

In a short time the car reaches the bustling centre of town. The junction of Kapodistriou and Agiou Spiridonos in Corfu Town with the tower of Saint Spyridon church to the right of centre.

A corner is taken. Facing north along Kerkyra - Kanoni with the westernmost arch of the the Palace of St. Michael and St. George in the right distance.

Shay takes in the sights as the journey continues. Looking south towards Eleftherias in Corfu Town.

A pan with the Mercedes brings the colonnades of the Liston into frame with Place Enoseos to the right.

Reaching his destination, Shay gets out of the taxi. Outside number 13 Kapodistriou in Corfu Town.

Entering the hotel, Shay checks in as Booth. The camera tilts up the frontage of number 13 Kapodistriou.

The Receptionist picks up the telephone as Shay looks through the window of room 19 on the third floor.

That night, Parker wakes Shay when he telephones to tell him that his life is in danger. Mitropoleos Square in Corfu Town with the Holy Metropolitan Church of the Virgin Mary Spilaiotissa, Saint Blaise and Saint Theodora Augusta to the right.

Shay makes his way from the hotel to meet with Parker outside. The steps lead down into Mitropoleos Square, Corfu Town.

A car drives towards Shay before he's captured and beaten by a group of Men. Looking down onto the steps leading from Mitropoleos Square to the Holy Metropolitan Church of the Virgin Mary Spilaiotissa, Saint Blaise and Saint Theodora Augusta.

Recovering after being interrogated during which he realises that he made a mistake killing Booth, Shay is told by Colonel Balcov (Peter Dyneley) that he wants Crawford.

Crawford arrives at Corfu Airport. The airport opened in 1937 with the runway being extended in 1949 as well as during the 1950s and construction of a new passenger terminal was begun in 1968.

One of the Balkov's Men watches Shay meet Crawford outside the airport before the two get into a hired Citroën.

Shay drives Crawford back to his hotel where a phone call is received telling the pair to go to Colonel Balkov's villa where Sarah is being held.

The Colonel and Sarah sit waiting by the pool at the villa as an armed Guard signals the arrival of Shay and Crawford. The pool at Villa Sylva, Kanóni.
