Police sirens sound in the distance as Dr. William Harford looks down to the street from the apartment where he and his wife Alice are preparing to attend a Christmas party hosted by one of his patients, Victor Ziegler. 146 Central Park West at the corner of West 75th Street, Manhattan in New York, New York 10023 located on the On the Set of New York website.

On another evening, when he receives news that Lou Nathanson has died, Dr. Harford takes a cab to visit his patient's daughter Marion. Paul Trigwell identifies this is 5th Avenue. Although not visible in our capture, the Flatiron Building can be seen in the background of the Blu-ray release.

After Marion attempts to seduce him, Bill leaves Nathanson's apartment when Carl arrives. West 3rd Street facing the intersection with Sullivan Street in Greenwich Village, New York 10012.

Alone with his thoughts, Dr. William Harford (Tom Cruise) imagines his wife making love with a Naval Officer after seeing a Couple embracing in the street. This, like many of the other scenes, was shot on a set at Pinewood Studios in Iver Heath, Buckinghamshire.

A jealous rage grows in the Doctor's mind. A back projection keeps our star on the streets of New York. Paul Trigwell advises that the blue-screened shot was filmed at West 4th Street, New York.

Turning a corner, Bill sees a noisy group of Men approaching. Here, we are on the sound stage at Pinewood again.

Recovering after being purposely knocked into a parked car by the Men, Bill watches in silence as they taunt him whilst walking away. This set is seen later after, or even before, being redressed.

Dr. Harford continues his solitary walk. The intersection of Bleecker Street and Thompson Street in Greenwich Village.

Receiving a call from Alice, Bill leaves Domino's flat and soon finds himself outside the Sonata Cafe where an old acquaintance Nick Nightingale is playing piano. Although interiors scenes of the café were shot at Madame Jo-Jo's on Brewer Street W1, this is a set at Pinewood Studios in Iver Heath, Buckinghamshire.

When Nick tells him about a regular engagement where he plays blindfolded, Bill follows his instructions to obtain a costume for that night's event after seeing him write down the password during a phone call.

Bill pays the Cab Driver and enters the shop where Mr. Milich provides a tuxedo, a cloak with a hood and a mask.

On the ride to the country mansion mentioned by Nick, Bill again imagines Alice with the Naval Officer. Another return to New York for this scene.

Reaching the gates to Somerton after a $130 journey, Bill gets out of the cab. Buckler's Forest, Bracknell in Berkshire, on former Transport Research Laboratory land located by Neil Webster.

Learning the name of Nick's hotel from the Waitress at the coffee bar, Bill makes his way to see the pianist. More of New York is seen to keep the setting. Facing southwest along University Place from the intersection with East 13th Street, New York 10003. (SR)

At the hotel, the Desk Clerk tells Dr. Harford that a bruised and frightened Mr. Nightingale had checked out after arriving at 4.30 am with two well built men. This part of the Pinewood set is modelled on the Washington Square Hotel on Waverly Place in Greenwich Village, New York.

Paul Trigwell returned to the Washington Square Hotel some 25 years later.

At his surgery, Bill continues to imagine his wife with the Naval Officer and cancels his afternoon appointments. Facing south on Park Avenue from the intersection of East 57th Street 10022. The location also features in ‘Only When I Larf’.

Dr. Harford collects his car and returns to Somerton where he is handed an envelope warning him to give up his enquiries. The Upper Roadway of Manhattan Bridge with the skyline of New York’s Financial District in the left distance.

Approaching Sommerton. Neil Webster identifies this as the Test Track in Buckler's Forest near Bracknell, Berkshire. A scene from 'Quadrophenia' was also shot at the track.

Neil points out that the left kerb has been removed and there's grass growth over the asphalt. Buckler's Park housing development can be seen in the distance.

Neil tells us that "A section of TRL's test track remains at the site complete with banked corner."

The camera follows the cab until it stops outside the building where Domino lives.

Bill leaves the building after being let in by Domino's flatmate Sally. Paul Trigwell identifies this as around number 33 Wooster Street in Manhattan

Paul found the location while staying in Canal Street adding "Buildings on the Avenue of the Americas fills in the centre background."

The Doctor finds himself walking the streets once again. Hatton Garden in London EC1 located on www.british-film-locations.com. The famous street appears in many other productions including ‘The Hatton Garden Job’, ‘King of Thieves’, ‘The Primitives’, ‘The Secret Place’, ‘Robbery’ and ‘The Diamond’.

Checking again, Dr. Harford sees that the Man is keeping up. Outside Diamond House at 36 to 38 Hatton Garden EC1.

The "38" behind Cruise was on the white column behind the chap checking his mobile or should that be cell? SJ

Reading about the death of an ex-beauty queen from a drug overdose, Dr. Harford goes to the hospital where he asks for Amanda Curran, a patient who he learns has died. Mount Sinai West at 1000 10th Avenue on the corner of West 59th Street, New York 10019.
