Storyline:

Baines, an embassy butler having an affair with another member of staff, is inadvertently betrayed by Phillipe, the eight-year-old son of the ambassador, a violent quarrel follows between Baines and his wife. Mrs. Baines later falls to her death from a window. Phillipe begins to understand how little he had known his friend the butler and struggles to clear Baines (Ralph Richardson) from being wrongfully accused of murder. JT

This is Kinnerton Place South SW1. In the film it is the reverse angle of Belgrave Mews South, but clearly a location 'cheat'. The reverse view down Belgrave Mews South is not as attractive. Danny Nissim tells us this. Excellent. we await the photo proof.

Wait no longer, counting the windows and mews/passages I think I have the right spot. Kinnerton Place South, even more attractive now. Found and captured by Richard Lovejoy.

From Maurice Speed's "Film Review", Wilton Row, Belgrave Square, London SW1. The camera and crew are on a movable truck,a dolly, on rails in order to keep a constant and fixed focus. The actor, Ralph Richardson is also on a "track", a chalk mark on the road, again, in order to keep a fixed distance from the camera.
