A policeman on his beat discovers a house fire and attempts to alert the residents. Ivy Lodge, Hove , East Sussex.
Ivy Lodge was already derelict at the time of filming and was demolished shortly after. Now 25 Vallance Gardens stands on the site.

The policeman raises the alarm at the fire station. Hove Fire Brigade Station, 85 George Street, Hove.
The fire brigade moved to a new station in 1926.

Ian Lacey contacted us with this image adding that it was taken in 1903 with, more than likely, the men who were in the J. Williamson film. He continues "In 1994 I lived in the flat above the Bistro. The windows were the same as in the old photo and the coat of arms above them are still there".

The family is rescued from the house and the fire is extinguished. Ivy Lodge was also seen in 'Attack On A China Mission' (1900).
The action took place at the side of Ivy Lodge, which is now the passageway between these two houses.
