Can you help:

If you have any information regarding this production, the locations or, even better, some comparison shots please contact us. Images submitted must be in Landscape orientation, as would be seen on the cinema screen, not Portrait.

We are aware that there are films on the site that were added when the criteria for the inclusion of locations was very different from today and, as a result, there may be scenes missing from some productions. Please do not forward additional screen captures to us but bring the detail to our attention, for we do, and are, 're-addressing' these older entries as time allows.

Clint rides into "San Miguel."

This is now the hotel Cortijo de Sotillo, just north of San Jose, Capo de Gata, Spain where exteriors of the approach to "San Miguel" were shot. SJ

Reverse shot looking north

Looking away from the Mediterranean coast which is only a couple of miles away. Only the hills in the background help here. SJ

Now suddenly "San Miguel" is Los Albaricoques several miles further inland and seen in greater detail in the sequel For A Few Dollars More

This hamlet celebrates its moment of cinematic fame. This street once called calle Rodalquilar is now calle Clint Eastwood. A lot has changed but that one window building in the middle ground to the right is a giveaway. SJ

Another reverse shot. "Adios, amigo"

Same road as above. SJ

Last shot of Los Albaricoques: the apricots.

At the east end of calle Clint Eastwood. SJ

Now the rest of San Miguel, the centre of the action and a location switch to outside Madrid.

Hans captured the background hills of the set nicely. (SJ)

hoyo de Manzares to be precise

Hans panned right to find a pylon. (SJ)

Translates as the hollow of apples: it was a set. Reverse pov.

Hans turned around to find a distinctive match on the horizon on the right. (SJ)

Reverse pov of the set.

Hans again captured the hills in the background. (SJ)

The Rojos' slaughter at the river: filmed at aldea de Fresno, ash village near Madrid.

Hans opted for this spot. (SJ)

The cemetery nearby.

Another pylon intrudes onto the scene for Hans... I've deliberately included the pylon to help other visitors to the site. (SJ)

Back to Almeria near Tabernas. Some hard riding in rugged countryside.

Hans found the rock formation. Quite close to For a Few Dollars More cap 21. The rambla is east of the N-340A as it runs alongside the A-92, north-east of Gádor. (SJ)

Back to San Jose, same place as fist001, where Koch is imprisoned.

Same building, same hillside. SJ

Some more hard riding near Tabernas.

Roger Auclair, with Paul, found the riverbed near the A-92, very close to The Good the Bad and the Ugly captures 9 & 10, snapped in 2014. (SJ)

Clint mops up back in the set near Madrid.

Hans took this noting that the same appears in For a Few Dollars More cap6. (SJ)

And leaves behind a trail of bodies.

Hans captures the line of hills on the horizon but the foreground is void of buildings and bodies. (SJ)
