At the reading of her late Grandfather's will, the prudish but assertive business woman Jane Robinson learns that she has inherited the Avonmore Sun Colony. The Edgwarebury Hotel on Edgwarebury Lane in Elstree, Hertfordshire. The popular filming location also appears in ‘School for Scoundrels’, ‘The Devil Rides Out’, ‘Spider’s Web’, ‘Never Too Young to Rock’, ‘Stardust’, 'Sons of the Sea', ‘The Rough and the Smooth’, ‘Stranger from Venus’, ‘My Lover My Son’, 'The Liquidator’, 1974's ‘Dracula’, ‘So Evil, So Young’, ‘A Woman Possessed', 'Mosquito Squadron’ and ‘Night Must Fall’.

The croquet lawn has been built on by extra accommodation (seen on the right) so a direct comparison is not possible. SJ

After hearing the news that Jane's family have agreed to sell the nudist camp to pay death duty, Avonmore committee member Bob Sutton (Brian Cobby) returns home. St. James's Close on St. James's Terrace off Prince Albert Road in NW8 located by Alfie Willow and confirmed by Phil Evans.

Perhaps I should return when the space is unoccupied. SJ

Soon after Bob settles down with a drink, fellow club member Gloria Phillips rings his doorbell. Alfie Willow advises that this is looking up at St. James's Close on St. James's Terrace which also appears in 'A Touch of Larceny', 'Meet Mr Callaghan' and 'Miranda'.

No changes except for the balcony windows.

After telling her family that she's decided not to sell Avonmore, Jane returns to the camp with her Aunt. Passing the chapel of Aldenham School on Aldenham Road south of Letchmore Heath in Hertfordshire.

At the offices of Robinson Enterprises, Gloria Phillips calls on Stephen Blake to discuss the the blossoming relationship between Jane and Bob. Bowater House at the junction of Knightsbridge and Brompton Road in SW1. Other views of the building can be seen in 'What Every Woman Wants' from 1962, 'The Primitives', 'Victim', 'Sebastian' and 'Otley'. Paul Hilton adds that the building has since been demolished and One Hyde Park currently stands on the site.
